Check out the recap for SOL girls’ lacrosse teams in action Wednesday.

Non-league
WISSAHICKON 15, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 9
Emma Baker and Sophia Chiodo Ortiz both scored five goals and also added an assist to lead the Trojans to their third win without a loss. Baker also was credited with eight draw controls while Chiodo Ortiz had a pair of ground balls.
South coach Janique Craig pointed to Baker as a difference maker.
“She was really impressive,” the Titans’ coach said. “Wissahickon did a phenomenal job on the draw and had 14 draw controls.”
Also for the Trojans, Quinn Gaffey scored two goals and also had three assists and three draw controls. Chloe Lee added a pair of goals. Abby Groat had one goal and four draw controls, and Nora Ryan had one assist and two ground balls. Amanda Brecher was credited with two caused turnovers and also had two ground balls.
On the Titans’ behalf, South’s sports programs were shut down 10 days because of COVID-19, and the players have had very little time together.
“My first real practice with everyone together was yesterday,” Craig said. “I knew Wissahickon was good, and I wanted to get the game in.
“At Great Valley, we only lost the second half 7-8. I felt I finally got the combination because we didn’t have any scrimmages or anything. Today we were within three goals, but we had trouble with the draw control – number 5, Baker, was great, but it was a nice improvement from Monday. The girls were happy with themselves, and I’m just happy to be out there. The girls are wonderful, they’re so excited – I think all the teams are appreciative.”
Tegan Mullan had a big day for the Titans, leading the way with five goals and one assist. Kate Victor had a hand in five goals, contributing one goal and four assists. Bridget Curtin and Janessa Watson both added a goal and an assist. Maddie Flynn had one goal.
“Our team is coming together,” Craig said. “We are still working on our flow and combinations. It’s nice to have the entire team back from our shutdown, and we now have two games under out belts since we didn’t have any scrimmages. We look forward to playing Ridley tomorrow.”
Madeline Murphy was credited with six saves in goal for the Trojans while South’s Gabby Mayo recorded 10 saves.
Wissahickon (3-0) will travel to Hatboro-Horsham for next Wednesday’s SOL opener at 3:30 p.m. Central Bucks South (0-2) will be on the road at Ridley on Thursday for a non-league game at 3:45 p.m.
PENNRIDGE 10, QUAKERTOWN 4
The Rams bounced back from a season-opening loss to Wissahickon to earn their first win of the young season. Maddy Edinger’s four-goal effort led the way, and Amelia Loughery added three goals and three assists.
“We are working a new attack, and today it showed with moving the ball and working as a team,” coach Karen Feher said. “Defense came up big with Brenna Craig coming up big out of the net.
“Maddy Edinger’s speed paid off with her four goals, and Loughery was winning the draws.”
Adding one goal each were Aubrie Maher, Kate Unzicker and Mackenzie Herbst. Kendall Posey handed out three assists.
Brenna Craig was credited with 12 saves in goal for the Rams.

The Golden Hawks received contributions up and down their lineup in Wednesday’s opener. Four players – Isabelle Leiter, Olivia Meakim, Charlotte Chames and Kat Morrow – each scored a pair of goals to lead the balanced attack. Leiter and Morrow also both had one assist.
“Overall, this was a great team effort for our first game of the season,” coach Kim Frantz said. “To have scoring across 11 players shows we are starting to work together as a team.
“We are happy to have our season started with a win and are excited for the season.”
