Non-league SOL crossover
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 4, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
A week without games did not slow down the Indians, who scored a pair of goals in each half while their defense silenced the visiting Panthers in crossover action Saturday.
“Every SOL win is a good one, and we were happy today to get a win after a week off,” Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan
said. “I know Tennent has some injuries, but I thought they played aggressively and made us work for the win today.”
Addison Martin put the Indians on the board with a goal that turned out to be the game-winner. Annie Mills scored her first varsity goal to send the Indians into halftime with a 2-0 lead while Keagan Terry scored a pair after halftime.
Scoring summary
First half
CRN – Addison Martin
CRN – Annie Mills
Second half
CRN – Keagan Terry assisted by Sarina Igval & Audrey Rogan
CRN – Keagan Terry
Council Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan: “We were a little disjointed early but were able to grow into the game, and our first goal was a long range shot from Addison Martin, her left is really dangerous from that distance, and this one found the bottom corner. Soon after that Annie Mills scored her first Varsity goal on a 25-yard shot after a corner was cleared.
In the second half, we emphasized a few things, and our
third goal was a great build up from Audrey Rogan to Sarina Igval and then a great finish from Keagan Terry. Keagan scored again with 15 minutes left after some good build up play.”
–Props: “Reese Ludwig and Sophia Mills combined for the shutout, and overall, we had the opportunity to get a lot of minutes across the board today, but I thought Brynn Rodgers, Sophia Milich and Annie Mills did a really good job with their time.”
William Tennent coach Elise Jara: “I am proud of the way the girls played. We faced a very strong Council Rock team that has speed on the outside. We asked a lot of our young defenders to try and contain the speed, and overall, I feel they did the best they could. Looking forward to getting back to division play on Tuesday.”
–Props: “Credit to freshman Lily Defortuna, sophomore Abi Schlippert and junior Mia Rahn on solid defensive play. Also, credit Alena Beer who had a strong game between outside mid and defensive mid.”
Up next: Council Rock North will travel to Bensalem Tuesday, and William Tennent will host Upper Moreland Tuesday.

Non-league
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, CONESTOGA 2 (OT)
In a battle of perennial district powers, it was the Patriots gutting out the thrilling OT win in Saturday’s non-league battle when – with five minutes remaining – Addie Langlois scored the game-winner.
“Overall, this was a good team win that wasn’t always pretty, but this team finds a way to get tough games like this over the line,” East coach Jake Nesteruk said.
The two teams exchanged goals in the first half with Ella Roumy finding the net to give the Patriots an early lead only to see Conestoga answer. Conestoga took a 2-1 lead seven minutes into the second half. Eight minutes later Mattie Williams evened the score, setting the stage for OT.
Scoring summary
First half
CBE- Ella Roumy (Mia Forney) 31 remaining
CON- Emily Huffman, 2 remaining
Second half
CON Claire Mariotti, 33 remaining
CBE Mattie Williams (Mia Forney), 25 remaining
OT
CBE Addie Langlois, 5 remaining
Central Bucks East coach Jake Nesteruk: “Very proud of our group for pulling out this win today. Conestoga is a first-rate program and a very, very good team, so to get the offensive output we did, to bounce back from going down early in the second half, and win it in OT requires a real, gritty team-effort.”
—First half: “I thought we were really good. Moved the ball well, created a quite a few high-quality chances early and eventually netted the first goal of the day within the first ten minutes off an Ella Roumy corner goal. Stoga made a couple tactical changes that made the game a bit more difficult in the center of the park, and we struggled to maintain possession, but still manufactured a handful of good opportunities we just couldn’t convert. Within the last five, I thought we gave up a bit of a self-inflicted goal, but all credit goes to Stoga for tying the game back up right before the half.
–Second half: “I thought Stoga jumped on us early and netted a pretty uncontested finish on a free kick that then had us chasing the game. From there, we probably got a bit too far away from what we are best at, but credit to the girls for finding pockets of composure, creativity, and decisiveness to put together another three or four really good chances to tie this game up. Right around 25 minutes remaining, Taylor Roumy played a ball in behind from left to right into Mia who got to the endline, cut a ball back and Mattie Wiliams finished really, really well in a big moment to get us level.
“From there, the game got a bit stretched, lots of transitions, and while I think we created the better opportunities I don’t think either team really controlled the match from there on out.”
–OT: “It’s been a minute since we’ve been in OT, and fatigue was definitely a factor, but it felt like we had enough gas in the tank to create a few more chances. With about five left, earned a free kick about 35 out. A really good ball in from right to left, and Addie Langlois just caught it perfectly off the bounce for a lofted volley to win it.”
—Props: “While their names surprisingly don’t show up on the score sheet today, I thought Taylor Roumy and Mia Forney had massive days for us. I think Mia put together her best game of the season for us so far, and it showed in the number of scoring chances and corners earned today. Kiera was a huge difference maker for us in the center of the park and really liked how her and Mackenzie Peters worked off each other today. Two really good goals from our Ella and Mattie today in big moments, and then Addie Langlois out of the back in the biggest moment of the day.”

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1, PARKLAND 0
The visiting Golden Hawks knocked Parkland from the ranks of the undefeated with an impressive non-league road win Saturday.
“It was a great mental win – a 90-minute bus ride at 7:30 am with homecoming dance tonight- a situation that if we weren’t mentally strong could have done us in before the game started,” Rock South coach Nick Heim said. “Very pleased with their effort and unity today from those that played 80 minutes to those that were on the bench being vocal.”
Midway through the first half, Teagan Shay scored the game’s only goal with an Anna Horn assist.
Ella Mayberry had the clean sheet in goal for the Hawks.
Scoring summary
First half
CRS – Teagan Shay from Anna Horn, 27:00
Second half – No score
Council Rock South coach Nick Heim:
–On the win: “CR South took an early long bus ride to Allentown today to play previously unbeaten Parkland. We felt we had a solid game plan to deal with the threats they have and to give us a chance at getting one on the road.
“We generated early chances but couldn’t find that final touch until midway through the first half when Macy Laidlaw created some space and drove at their back line. She was able to find Anna Horn’s feet and Anna played a one-time pass to Teagan Shay for a first touch finish. We generated a few more chances in the first half but went into halftime 1-0.
“We discussed they would chase the game a bit and throw numbers forward we had to adjust on the fly. It played out that way, and kudos to our girls for communicating changes and substitutions down the stretch. Ella Mayberry had a big save late as we left with a 1-0 win.”
–Props: “I thought our defense was fantastic today. Krissy Philip really shut down her side and got us forward offensively, and Kate Hickey, Brooke Pavlow, and Carly Conetta really limited what Parkland did. Brooke had a tough assignment on a big, strong girl that already has 20 goals on the year, and Brooke played it exactly how we wanted.
“Total team effort with midfielders anticipating their third man runs and really breaking down what they wanted to do offensively.”
