SOL Patriot Division
Council Rock North 3, Pennsbury 2
The Indians – sparked by a pair of Bella Lanza goals – notched their sixth win without a loss, but this one was anything but easy.
“Another tough divisional battle today,” Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan said. “I think the game was very even at times, and we definitely fought hard in the second half to defend our lead.”
The Indians took a 3-0 lead in the first half, sparked by two goals from Lanza and another by Keagen Terry. The Falcons scored to make it a 3-1 game at halftime and then made things real interesting when – with 10 minutes remaining – they pulled to within one. The Indians, however, would not be denied.

Pennsbury goal
Council Rock North coach Gavin Flannigan:
–On the game: “Pennsbury started well and were the better team but we were able to score from a Sarina Igval corner kick when Bella Lanza headed home. Soon after Darcy McCullough was able to slip a pass into Keagen Terry who shot from distance into the far corner and then we added a 3rd goal when Lanza hit home a rebound from a Keagan Terry header.
“Pennsbury continued to play well and threatened us, they deservedly scored off a header with about 10 mins left in the first half. In the second half I thought the game was even again, Pennsbury scored to make it 3-2 about halfway through but we were able to see the game out at the end fairly well.”
–Props: “Our goals today were well taken, and our work rate was extremely high especially in the second half. Audrey Rogan and Isabel Diaz really covered a lot of ground for us today.”
Up next: Council Rock North (6-0, 3-0 SOL) will travel to Harry S Truman Thursday, and Pennsbury (5-3, 2-2) will host Council Rock South Wednesday (7pm).

LOWER MORELAND 2, ARCHBISHOP CARROLL 1
If the Lions were looking for a signature win, this just might be it.
Carroll entered Tuesday’s non-league game with five straight wins, which included wins over a pair of SOL squads – Central Bucks West (2-1) and Upper Dublin (1-0). The Lions brought an end to Carroll’s modest win streak, rallying from an early deficit to earn the impressive win.
The visiting Patriots got on the scoreboard in the eighth minute, but before they had finished celebrating, Evie O’Brien (Quinn Rozanski assist) evened the score just 19 seconds later.
“Our girls have gotten really good at bouncing back and not hanging their head after a goal is scored against us,” LM coach Todd Hill said. “I am really proud of their resilience,”
That 1-1 tie stood until midway through the second half when Gabby Sellecchia turned Izzy O’Brien’s corner kick into a goal that stood as the game-winner.

Lower Moreland coach Todd Hill:
–On the game: “We had a great win against an athletic Archbishop Carroll team today. Shoutout to Carroll’s goalie – she did an outstanding job today.
“We have been trying to put pieces together over the first few weeks of the season. Each game we put together one of the pieces. Today it started to feel like the pieces were coming together.
“Carroll scored first. Their attacker received the ball in the middle of the box, and she turned on our defender and scored a nice goal with 32:23 left in the first half. However, I was still speaking to the girls on the bench after the goal when Quinn Rozanski sent a ball ahead to Evie O’Brien to score an equalizer just 19 seconds later.
In the second half Carroll came out aggressively. I felt like our defense did a good job absorbing the initial aggression and then settled into a really nice game of possession. The score remained tied until 16:31 left in the game when Izzy O’Brien sent a great corner kick into the box to Gabby Sellecchia’s foot and Gabby finessed it into the back of the net. Then our girls really played a disciplined last quarter to hold Carroll to the one goal.”
Shoutout: “Senior Goalie Giuls Fogarty had a really strong game. She made good decisions and communicated really well.
“Junior Jordyn Fox played a really smart game in the middle of the field. She helped us move the ball without being predictable in her attack.
“Junior Defender Izzy O’Brien was a really steady presence in our back line, using her speed against Carroll’s attack.
“Sophomore Emma Leibert put tons of pressure on Carroll’s back line. She is so strong and works so hard, she constantly frustrated them.”
Up next: Lower Moreland (4-2, 3-0 SOL) will host William Tennent on Tuesday (7pm).
