NESHAMINY 3, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2
Molly Ambrosius earned the complete game win, and the Redskins came up with some timely hits to earn their fourth win in five games.
The ‘Skins put a pair of runs on the board in the second. Kendall McCafferty led off the inning with a line single to left, and Neshaminy had runners on the corners after a one-out single by Ashley Entenman. With two outs, both McCafferty and Entenman scored on wild pitches.
Jill Rickards continued her torrid offensive production with a two-out solo home run in the bottom of the fifth that put the Redskins on top 3-0.
Rock South made it a 3-1 game in the sixth when Paige Brady delivered a one-out single. In the seventh, Mickey DeYoung, Molly Gabriele and Victoria Herzog hit back-to-back-to-back singles. With one out, Ashley Curtier lined an RBI single to left field, but with the bases loaded and one out, Ambrosius came up with a huge strikeout, and then coaxed a fly ball to the pitcher to end the threat without further damage, and the hard-fought win was in the book.

Neshaminy coach Sarah Martoccio:
–The game: “It wasn’t our cleanest performance, but I’m proud of how the girls stayed composed and found a way to get it done. We left a lot of opportunities out there and had moments we’d like back, but good teams respond, and that’s exactly what they did today.”
–Props: “Molly Ambrosius was outstanding in the circle, recording nine strikeouts and keeping us in control throughout the game. Jill Rickards also came up big again with yet another home run, continuing to be a consistent spark for our offense. While we know there’s more in us, it’s always a positive to come away with a win as we continue to grow and improve.”
Up next: Neshaminy is off until Tuesday, April 7, when the Redskins will travel to Pennsbury. Council Rock South will face Charles W Baker High School Tuesday as part of its spring break trip to Myrtle Beach.

QUAKERTOWN 6, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3
One day removed from a 17-2 loss at the hands of Neshaminy, a young Panther squad bounced back to notch an impressive win over Plymouth Whitemarsh.
“This was huge,” Quakertown coach Rich Scott said. “I didn’t know what to expect before the game, but I know we’re capable of winning some games.
“We were very pleased with the outcome today and the way the girls played.”
Sophomore Ava Jones earned the complete game win, allowing six hits and three runs (2 earned). She also helped her own cause with a three-run home run to center field, highlighting a five-run third inning. Ila Schwalm opened the inning with a double, and Ellie Hilton had an RBI single in the inning. Gianna Santangelo also singled in the inning.

By the numbers: Quakertown: Ellie Hilton (2-for-2, 2RBIs), Ila Schwalm (2-for-3, 2B, 1R), Kira Jefferson (2B, 1R).
Ava Jones (W) (7.0 IP, 6H, 3R, 2ER, 6BB, 0K), Ava Jones (1-for-3, HR, 3 RBIs, 1R)
Plymouth Whitemarsh: Joslyn Perez (2-for-4, 1R), M Swift (2-for-3, 1R).
Quakertown coach Rich Scott:
–Bouncing back: “We had a freshman pitcher yesterday – it was her first start, and she evidently didn’t throw many strikes, so she struggled. She’s a good pitcher, she’s just young.
“Today I started Ava Jones, and she’s a sophomore, so she’s young too. We did okay – we hit the ball more, and our infield was pretty solid. Anna Bruno at third base had an error yesterday, and today she was error free. Any balls hit to her, she gobbled up.
“Kira (Jefferson), our shortstop, is just automate on almost every play that comes her way. She’s a great kid.”
Up next: Quakertown will be on the road at Hatboro-Horsham on Tuesday, and Plymouth Whitemarsh will travel to Wissahickon on Tuesday.

UPPER MORELAND 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
Delaney Stout – for the third time this season and second time in as many days – fanned 18 batters, this time in a no-hitter. One out separated the junior pitcher from a perfect game, but after retiring the first 20 batters she faced, Stout hit a batter with two outs in the seventh.
Raelynn Salaman followed and reached base on an error before Stout struck out the next batter she faced. The UM ace reached a milestone, notching the 500th strikeout of a stellar career.
“She is a tremendously hardworking kid who deserves to be acknowledged for this accomplishment,” UM coach Melanie Martino said. “The coaches and players of Tennent showed great sportsmanship today and celebrated her as well, making sure she got her game ball. We really appreciated that.”
Appropriately, Stout drove in a first-inning run that stood as the game-winner when she hit a two-out double to left field that plated Melissa Torpey, who doubled earlier in the inning.
The Golden Bears added a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Stout started the rally with her second double of the game, and that was followed by an RBI double by Claire Walton. Singles by Jordyn Gibbs and Brooklyn Kavanaugh (RBI) brought home the game’s third run.
