PENNSBURY 10, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (6 innings)
Kylie Dressel stole the spotlight in Tuesday’s shutout win at Truman, striking out 11 in a six-inning no-hitter.
“She threw strikes,” Pennsbury coach Frank McSherry said. “She gave up two walks, but she had 11 strikeouts, which is a season high. She hit her spots.”
Liv Czerniak led the Falcons’ attack with three hits, including a two-run single in the Falcons’ four-run fifth. Bella Morales – who has been on a bona fide tear and continues to bat over .500 for the season – had a pair of hits
“Morales is just killing it – she’s having a career year,” McSherry said.
By the numbers: Pennsbury: Liv Czerniak (3-for-3, 2B, 3 RBI, 3R), Bella Morales (2-for-4, 2R), Ryen Rittersbach (2-for-3)
Key inning: Top of first: Czerniak led off with a single and went to second on an error. Morales followed with a single, and Jenna Thompson brought both runners home with a single to put the Falcons up 2-0.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 6, NESHAMINY 3
The Golden Hawks opened up a 5-0 lead in the third inning and never looked back on their way to the win.
“After a 13-day hiatus, we successfully regained our momentum and delivered a strong performance,” Rock South coach Scott Molle said. “Recognizing Neshaminy as one of our rival teams, we understood the importance of executing a solid game plan to secure a win. Today, we achieved just that.
“Defensively, we capitalized on every scoring opportunity that came our way, which was truly impressive to witness. Notably, our senior players demonstrated minimal rust despite having only one practice session since returning from Florida, instead showcasing their characteristic South-style softball prowess.”
The Golden Hawks were led by the two-hit efforts of Julia Scannapieco, Veronica Houk and Lexi Waring.
Waring earned the complete game win in the circle.
“With three more games scheduled this week, we have begun on a positive note and look forward to completing a successful week of softball,” Molle said.
By the numbers: Council Rock South: Julia Scannapieco (2-for-4, 2 2B, 1RBI, 1R), Veronica Houk (2-for-4, 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Lexi Waring (2-for-3, 1RBI), Sophia Salamon (1-fore-2, 2B, 2RBI), Shannon Williams (2B)
Lexi Waring (W) (7.0 IP, 6H, 3R, 2ER, 3BB, 7K)
Key inning: Top of third – With the Redskins on top 2-0, Julia Scannapieco lined a double to left to lead off the inning, and Jenna Pesapane was hit by a pitch. With two outs, Houk lined a two-run double to center. Houk scored when Waring singled to put the Golden Hawks on top 5-0.
Council Rock South coach Scott Molle:
–Waring a winner: “In the pitching circle, Lexi Waring delivered an exceptional performance, effectively mixing her pitches to keep Neshaminy off balance. Her outstanding effort was highlighted by her ability to scatter six hits, with few balls being hit with significant force against her. This bodes well for our future prospects. Lexi is an exceptional player, and I have every confidence in her ability to excel in high-pressure games.
–Props: “Offensively, we maintained our momentum with another double-digit performance. The consistent production throughout our lineup is a positive trend, and we continue to see contributions from all players this season. Julia Scannapieco, Veronica Houk, and Lexi Waring, all seniors, led the team with two hits each. Julia’s performance was marked by two doubles and an RBI, while Veronica Houk also doubled and contributed two RBIs. Lexi added an RBI to her tally as well.”
–Salamon excels behind the plate: “Sophia Salamon has been outstanding behind the plate this year, emerging as a key player and making a significant impact as Lexi’s batterymate. Following in the footsteps of last year’s exceptional player, Grace Stepp, Sophia has seamlessly filled the void and impressed with her skills. Today, she sparked our offense with a two-run (double) off the left-field fence, setting the tone for our team’s success.”
Up next: Council Rock South (10-2, 5-1 SOL) will travel to Harry S Truman on Thursday, and Neshaminy (5-7, 3-3) will travel to Council Rock North on Thursday.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 10, BENSALEM 3
With the score deadlocked at 3 apiece, the Indians scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a lead they would not lose. Sierra Klein’s two-run single was the big blow in the fifth.
Klein, Zoe Hornstein and Chelsea Seiler each had two hits.
Olivia Schlindwein earned the complete game win.
For the Owls, a two-run home run by Adrianna Vargas highlighted their three-run third inning. Ashlyn Merz followed with a solo home run.
By the numbers: Council Rock North: Zoe Hornstein (2-for-3, 2B, 2RBI, 2R), Chelsea Seiler (2-for-2, 2B, 2R), Sierra Klein (2-for-4, 2B, 3RBI, 1R)
Olivia Schlindwein (W) (7.0 IP, 7H, 3R, 3ER, 4BB, 6K)
Bensalem: Gina Oliverio (2-for-4, 1R), Adrianna Vargas (HR, 2RBI), Ashlyn Merz (2-for-4, HR, 1RBI, 1R)
Key inning: Bottom of fifth: Liv Schlindwein led off the inning with a double and scored on a two-base error, breaking a 3-3 tie. Mia Kiskurno followed with a single, and Kayla Ripper drew a walk. Zoe Hornstein’s sacrifice bunt put a pair of runners in scoring position, Chelsea Seiler was given an intentional walk, and a pair scored on a single by Sierra Klein. A two-out error allowed two more runs to cross the plate, giving the Indians an 8-3 lead.
Council Rock North Susan Yee: “Our girls did a good job once again making adjustments as the game went on, and it showed in the final outcome after a closely contested game.”
–Props: “Liv Schlindwein did a nice job battling the heat for the complete game win as the girls condition themselves to get used to the warmer weather. Payton Helsman also did a tremendous job behind the plate today as her batterymate, allowing Liv to stay loose and move the ball around knowing Pay was going to be a wall behind the dish.
“Zoe Hornstein, Chelsea Seiler, and Sierra Klein all did a tremendous job offensively today, making their part of the order a really tough one to get through. Sierra, as Sierra does, came up clutch once again when the score was only 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, and the decision was made to give Chelsea Seiler first base, to load them. Sierra stepped to the plate and drove a two-RBI single to break the game open. Nobody does that job better than her. She spent all season last year protecting Molly Sheehy from intentional walks and really takes that role seriously, making people pay for pitching around the batter in front of her, and always stepping up in the clutch.
“The girls are doing a great job supporting one another and taking turns stepping up when needed, right now.”
Up next: Council Rock North (11-4, 6-0 SOL) will host Neshaminy on Thursday (4:30 pm), and Bensalem (4-11, 0-6) will host Pennsbury Thursday.

NORTH PENN 2, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 1
This was one of those rare games neither team deserved to lose.
“It was a great game,” NP coach Rick Torresani said. “It was like a playoff game. Both teams played so well, and we were lucky enough to get a walk-off in the seventh inning.
“Both pitchers did really well, and the defenses played well. It was just a timely hit, and we just happened to be the team to get it.”
The Knights won it when with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Mady Archer singled to shallow center to plate the game-winner.
Felicia Connolly turned in another gem in the complete game win, scattering five hits and allowing one run – unearned – while walking one and striking out 13.
Ana Glemser had an impressive outing of her own, allowing just three hits and one earned run while striking out 11.
The Bucks got on the scoreboard with an unearned run in the top of the third. The Knights got that run back in the bottom of the fourth – also benefitting from an error to plate an unearned run.
By the numbers: North Penn: Felicia Connolly (W) 7.0 IP 5H, 1R, 0ER, 1BB, 13K)
Mady Archer (1-for-4, 1 RBI)
Central Bucks West: Sammy Hooven (2B)
Ana Glemser (6.2 IP, 3H, 2R, 1ER, 5BB, 11K)
Key inning: Bottom of seventh: With one out, Gianna Howard drew a walk and moved up to second on a sacrifice bunt by Cailin Halfpenny. Tallie Smink was intentionally walked, and Archer made the Bucks pay, delivering a hit that plated the game-winner.
North Penn coach Rick Torresani: “This was one of those nice games you like to play in. It gets you ready for what you’re going to see later on, hopefully, in the playoffs. It’s the kind of game you don’t see that often anymore.
“Felicia Connolly pitched a really good game, and so did the other kid. She pitched really well too”
Archer delivers: “Two innings before, we had a girl on base, and she hit a shot out to center field in the gap, and the kid from West made an unbelievable diving catch.
“So then Archer came up again and was able to get a hit. It wasn’t a shot. It was a little chunk hit over the second baseman’s head, and that’s what scored the run.”
Central Bucks West coach Mike Daher: “This was a tough loss for us to a very good North Penn team. Our girls fought North Penn for seven innings and just came up a little short by a 2-1 score. We outhit North Penn five to three but could not get any hits with runners in scoring position. We ended up 0-9 with runners in scoring position.
“Despite the loss, Ana Glemser was again outstanding for us. She threw all seven innings, gave up only three hits, one earned run and struck out 10 batters. She has done an amazing job of late and has really kept us in every game that we have played where she pitched. In her last four outings, she has given up a total of five earned runs. We could not ask for more from her at this time, she has been extremely effective in the circle for us.”
Up next: North Penn (8-6, 5-1 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks South on Thursday (5:30 pm), and Central Bucks West (8-6, 2-4) will be on the road at Souderton Thursday.

SOUDERTON 16, PENNRIDGE 4 (5 innings)
Josi Tolentino’s face lit up with a smile.
The question was an easy one for the Indians’ senior catcher to answer. Did she know the ball was gone on her two home runs in Tuesday’s win over the visiting Rams.
“Yeah – I start walking as soon as I get out of the batter’s box,” Tolentino said with a laugh. “It’s right off the bat You can just feel it – it’s gone.”
Tuesday’s round trippers were number seven and eight of a season that is turning out to be pretty special for the senior catcher, who – with Tuesday’s four RBIs – has 22 on the season.
Tolentino and her teammates are hitting the ball with authority – they had 16 hits in Tuesday’s abbreviated contest. Included in that barrage were 10 extra base hits and four home runs – two by Tolentino and one each by Emma Messmer and Kathryn Jones.
“Honestly, when you get a rally, one person gets a hit, and you just want to get a hit,” Tolentino said. “You have that fire – ‘Oh, I want to get a hit.’”
The Indians took an 8-1 lead in the third inning when – after an Ava Detwiler double – Jones ripped a two-run shot to center field.
The Rams staged a two-out rally in the fourth. Emerysn Lesher singled and advanced to third on a two-base error. She scored when Jules Pliszka singled. A home run by Taylor Toutkoushian made it an 8-4 game but not for long. An eight-run fourth put the game out of reach.
By the numbers: Souderton: Kendal Nelson (3-for-3, 2B, 2RBI, 1R), Josi Tolentino (2-for-4, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 2R), Emma Messmer (2-for-4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2R), Emma Lewis (2-for-3, 2B, 3B, 2RBI, 2R), Ava Detwiler (2B), Kathryn Jones (HR, 2RBI)
Skyler Byrnes (W) (4.0 IP, 4H, 4R, 4ER, 2BB, 3K), Ava Detwiler (1.0 IP, 1H, 0R, 1K)
Pennridge: Jules Pliszka (2-for-2, 1RBI, 1R), Taylor Toutkoushian (1-for-2, HR, 2RBI, 1R), Madison Heinrich (2B)
Key inning: Bottom of second: With the score deadlocked 1-1, the Indians erupted for five runs. With one out, Lewis lined a double to left field, advanced to third on a passed ball and scored when Nelson singled. Bella Kreyenhagen was safe on an error, and Kiera Fadden singled to left. With two outs, Messmer hit a three-run homer to center field, and Tolentino followed with a solo shot to center field, giving the Indians a 6-1 lead.
Souderton coach Tyler Bui: “It was easy to get excited for a game of this magnitude when your ace pitcher is going up against one of the best pitchers in the state. Unfortunately, Averi Dockery wasn’t feeling well and had to leave the game after one inning for Pennridge. Averi is a tough and selfless player, and I know she wanted to do everything she could to fight through for her team.
“I selfishly wished that she could have pitched the entire game because I feel it’s important for our team to face good pitching at the tail end of our schedule. I was proud of our girls as I could see how loose and focused they were before the start of this game. Our main aim for this team going forward is to keep them from being complacent and continue looking for ways to improve themselves as players.”
–Props: “Josi Tolentino continues her banner year with two home runs and four RBI. She just keeps crushing the ball and comes up with big hits for us.
“Kendal Nelson is a freshman putting up some insane numbers. She had three more hits today. Kendal gives us the luxury of having a 1-3 type hitter at the bottom of our lineup.”
Souderton senior Josi Tolentino on:
–The key to team’s success: “We’re just really connected. We don’t have that much drama – we care for each other. We have a secure friendship between each player, and I think that is the key to our success this year.
“I know the past couple of years we had a lot of trouble with that, but this year because we have such close friendships. We’re a young group of girls I’m the only senior, so I wasn’t really expecting much, but we came out strong and hopefully we’ll go far.”
Up next: Souderton (13-2, 6-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Pennridge (5-9, 1-5) will travel to Norristown for a non-league game on Friday.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 7, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 0
The Patriots scored four runs with a two-out rally in the bottom of the first, and that was more than enough for Brooke Taylor, who tossed the complete game shutout.
Chrissy Ivers led the Titans’ 10-hit attack with three hits while Kate Muntz and Maddie Motley had two each.
By the numbers: Central Bucks South: Chrissy Ivers (3-for-4, 2RBI, 2R), Kate Muntz (2-for-2, 2RBI, Maddie Motley (2-for-4, 1RBI, 2R), Erin Ruddell (2B), Dallas Deblasis (2B), Cam Lee (2B)
Brooke Taylor (W) (7 IP, 7H, 0R, 5BB, 5K)
Key inning: Bottom of first: Ruddell opened the inning with a double, and two outs later, she scored from second on a single by Motley. Lee followed with a double to right, and Ivers delivered a two-run single. Muntz singled to center, Ivers advanced to third and scored on a steal of home to put the Titans on top 4-0.
Central Bucks South coach Matt McLaughlin on the game: “It was an interesting game. We came off our worst game of the season – we lost 8-0 last week to Hatboro-Horsham, who quite frankly I took for granted, and that was a huge mistake on my part. I underestimated them, and they kicked our butt 8-0, so this was an awesome bounce-back game for our team.
“We needed this win. We go to (Archbishop) Wood tomorrow and then we have North Penn on Thursday. That’s the big game for us this week.
“We have a winning record – I think we’re ranked 11th or 12 in the District 1 6A rankings, which is a really tough division. Our goal was to place in the top 10 or 11, so we can have a home game. That would be great for us. We haven’t done that in years, so hopefully that can happen.”
–Props: “Brooke Taylor started the game on the mound and went seven strong innings – scattered seven hits but shut them out, so that was a really strong performance from Brooke.
“We had some new people step up today. Kate Muntz, our right fielder, continues to stay hot and had some big hits. She hit one off the top of the fence today, just barely stayed in the park. That was really cool at the beginning of the game.
“Chrissy Ivers, our left fielder who is also a senior, had a massive game. She was 3-for-4 and had a big offensive game with two RBIs and did really well.”
–Deblasis delivers in a pinch: “The highlight of the game for me was – towards the end of the game I went to the bench and I pinch hit for one of our batters with Dallas Deblasis. She’s left-handed, and she crushed a ball to left center. The highlight of the game for me was just seeing her smile when she rounded first base and was charging to second. The ball bounced over the fence for a ground rule double, but I don’t think she knew that. To see her face on second base made me happy – a huge smile. It was a huge hit in the game for us. I’m super happy for her. She stepped up in a pinch-hit situation. Coming off the bench cold is not easy, and she came in and executed and crushed the ball. That was a pretty cool part of the story.”
Up next: Central Bucks South (8-6, 4-2 SOL) will travel to Archbishop Wood for a non-league game Wednesday. Central Bucks East (7-8, 1-6) are off until May 8 when the Patriots will travel to Central Bucks West.

That was enough for Kennedy Conn, who turned in another strong outing, allowing five hits and one run in the seventh (unearned). She struck out 10 and walked three.
Abington’s Sam Wenhold pitched well enough to win on most days, allowing just three hits and two runs – both unearned.

Abington: Paige Holden (2-for-3)

Key inning: Bottom of third: With the Hatters on top 1-0, Sydney Cassel lined a one-out single to center, advanced to second and third on passed balls and scored on a successfully executed suicide squeeze bunt by Maya Ravi, giving the Hatters a 2-0 lead.
Hatboro-Horsham coach Bob Sadowl: “(We) got a solid win in our sixth one-run game of the season. Kennedy Conn pitched another gem, striking out 10. Maya Ravi put down a perfect squeeze bunt to plate the winning run in the third inning. Issabella Karpovich put down another beautiful bunt in the second that scored Annabelle Deacon all the way from first.
