COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 5, PENNSBURY 4
Walk-off wins are becoming all-but-routine for the Golden Hawks, who picked up their second of the season after notching four last year.
Their most recent on Tuesday came with two outs in the bottom of the seventh when Molly Gabrielle legged out an infield single that plated courtesy runner Paige Brady. For Brady, it was the fourth time in six walk-offs that she’s scored the game-winner. Lexi Waring’s one-out single set the stage for the game-winner.
The Golden Hawks trailed 4-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth when they plated three runs to even the score, a tie that stood until the seventh inning.
Julia Scannapieco, Kelly Delise and Waring led the Hawks with two hits each. Waring notched the complete game win.
Jenna Thompson and Sydnee Kandravi both had two hits for the Falcons.
By the numbers: Council Rock South: Julia Scannapieco (2-for-4), Kelly Delise (2-for-3, 2B, 2R), Lexi Waring (2-for-4, 1RBI)
Lexi Waring (W) (7.0 IP, 6H, 4R, 3ER, 6BB, 5K)
Pennsbury: Jenna Thompson (2-for-4, 3B, 1R), Sydnee Kandravi (2-for-3, 3RBIs, 1R)
Key innings: Bottom of fifth: Trailing 4-1, the Golden Hawks rally to knot the score. Scannapieco and Jenna Pesapane opened the inning with back-to-back singles. Delise walked to load the bases. Veronica Houk singled home a run, and Delise scored on an error. Sophia Salamon’s sacrifice fly brought home the tying run (4-4)
Bottom of seventh: With one out, Waring singled and was replaced by courtesy runner Paige Brady, who advanced to second on an error. With two outs, Brady scored on an infield single by Gabriele. (5-4).
Council Rock South coach Scott Molle: “Today was one of the coldest and windiest days I have experienced. We had a slow start again today, which has been our modus operandi thus far, but these girls never give up and always look forward. I am extremely proud of the game we played today, not only offensively but also defensively, and once again Lexi Waring settled in and secured the big win for us.
“Pennsbury is a scrappy team that is well-coached – any mistakes will be capitalized upon. They successfully threw out two of our players at home on accurate throws. We thrive on being aggressive, and it paid off with another walk-off win.”
–Props: “Molly Gabriele was able to leg out an infield single, securing the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Molly is a diligent worker who consistently gives her all in practice and has been instrumental for us at the plate. As one of our leaders, it was impressive to see her contribute to the team’s victory today.
“Kelly Delise continued her streak, leading the team in hitting. She collected two hits, scored two runs, and drew a walk. Julia Scannapieco and Lexi Waring also had two-hit days, with Waring adding a run batted in. Jenna Pesapane continued to excel, going 1-for-2 with two walks and scoring the tying run. Our team dispersed the runs batted in today, with five different players collecting at least one. We are currently playing well and continually improving each day. It will be exciting to see where the remainder of the season takes us. We have a close-knit team that plays for each other and genuinely enjoys playing on the field with their teammates. As a coach, games like these make me extremely proud of how far they have come since the fall.”

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 13, HARRY S TRUMAN 3 (6 innings)
The Indians pounded out 17 hits, led by the three-hit efforts of Sierra Klein and Katie Wilkoski.
Rock North scored runs in every inning and used a five-run fifth to blow the game wide open.
Lucy Mills earned the win in the circle.
By the numbers: Council Rock North: Kayla Ripper 2-for-2, 2RBI, 1R), Sierra Klein (3-for-4, 2 2B, 1RBI, 2R), Payton Helsman (2-for-4, 2RBI), Katie Wilkoski (3-for-4, 2 2B, 2R), Alison Bodick (2-for-2, 2B, 1RBI, 1R), Zoe Hornstein (2-for-4, 1RBI, 2R)
Lucy Mills (W) (4.0 IP, 7H, 3R, 3ER, 3BB, 3K), Mia Kiskurno (2.0 IP, 0H, 0R, 5K)
Key inning: Bottom of fifth: Leading 7-3, the Indians put the game away with a five run fifth. Katie Wilkoski lined a single to left to lead off the inning, and Mia Kiskurno followed with a bunt single. Zoe Hornstein’s single loaded the bases. A pair of runs crossed the plate on Ripper’s single to center field. Olivia Schlindwein’s bunt pushed a run across, and another run scored on Emily Dziekan’s sacrifice fly. Klein lined a double to right field, and Payton Helsman singled home a run. (12-3)
Council Rock North coach Susan Yee: “Truman is improving. Their girls play hard and have a positive outlook, and that is going to be a long-term difference for their program. Their leadoff batter was a problem for us all day, and Skyler Mahler made one of the best diving catches on a bunt I’ve seen in a long time. The ball barely went more than waist high, and she was able to get under it. It was really impressive.
“Our girls did a good job battling the elements today. They strung hits together without trying to do too much, and they played a solid game defensively behind our pitchers. Lucy Mills showed a lot of mental toughness in the circle this afternoon. She is a pitcher who very much relies on her spin and hitting her spots, so putting her out there to throw with wind chills in the 30’s where she can’t feel her hand and fingers took a ton of mental fortitude on her part. She did a great job persevering through it and letting her defense work for her.”

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 10, PENNRIDGE 8
(Game summary submitted by CB West SB)
Central Bucks West took a 10-0 lead into the fifth inning and needed just three outs to end the game after five innings. But Pennridge made the game interesting by scoring six runs in the top half of the fifth and two more in the sixth inning, thus extending the game to a full seven-inning game.
Ana Glemser started the game and went four shutout innings for the Bucks while striking out six batters and allowing only one hit through the first four innings. After leaving the game and seeing Pennridge battle back from a ten-run deficit to make the game close, Ana was called upon to return to the circle to finish what she had started. Glemser pitched out of a sixth-inning jam and then struck out all three batters she faced in the seventh to collect the save for the Bucks. In fact, Ana Glemser completed the rare feat of picking up both a win and a save in the same contest.
On the day, Glemser gave up only two hits, two earned runs and struck out ten Pennridge batters. Ana Glemser also contributed at the plate with a home run and three RBIs. But she wasn’t the only big hitter for the Bucks on this day. Catcher Sammy Hooven also contributed a three-run home run to left center field and drove in a total of five runs on the day. Center fielder Jill Boyle was 3-for-4 on the day and also scored two runs and stole a base. Katherine James, Laila Murray, and Marley Swain also contributed hits for the Bucks, who totaled ten hits on the day. Freshmen Taylor Sheplock stole two bases during the game.
By the numbers: Central Bucks West: Jill Boyle (3-for-4, 1RBI, 2R), Ana Glemser (1-for-3, HR, 3RBI, 1R), Sammy Hooven (2-for-3, HR, 5RBI, 1R)
Ana Glemser (W)(S) (6.1 IP, 3H, 2R, 2ER, 5BB, 10K)
Pennridge: Payton Keyser (2-for-4, HR, 2RBI, 2R), Jules Pliszka (1-for-3, 2RBI, 1R), Taylor Toutkoushian (1-for-4, 2RBI, 1R), Averi Docker (0-for-0, 1R, 4BB)

Katherine James singled, and Boyle’s single drove in the inning’s first run. Glemser followed with a three-run blast to left field. Laila Murray singled, Taylor Hooven drew a walk, and Sammy Hooven smashed a three-run home run. With two outs, Swain reached first on a dropped third strike, Sheplock walked, and Swain scored on a wild pitch. (8-0)
Top of fifth: Trailing 10-0, the Rams put six runs on the board. The inning was highlighted by singles by Emersyn Lesher, Keyser (RBI), Pliszka (2 RBIs), Toutkoushian (2 RBIs) and Madison Heinrich (RBI). (10-6)
Top of sixth: With one out, Keyser ripped a solo home run to center field. Lilly Davies doubled to right field, and Dockery received an intentional walk. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Davies scored on a groundout by Jadyn Gulbinski. (10-8)
Central Bucks West coach Mike Daher: “This was a very good win for us against a very competitive Pennridge team that kept battling with us throughout the entire game. After going up 10-0 on them and then seeing Pennridge battle back and making it a very close 10-8 game, it was important for us to tighten up our pitching and defense and to come away with a win.”
–Props: “Ana striking out the side in the seventh inning was a tremendous accomplishment and for her to come back into a very close game and to close the game out the way she did gave us a big win and hopefully will be something for us to build on moving forward.”
Up next: Central Bucks West (4-4, 1-3 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East Wednesday, and Pennridge (1-6, 1-3) will host Bensalem Thursday in a non-league game.
