CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 3, QUAKERTOWN 0
The Patriots continued to roll in Continental Conference play, sweeping the Panthers. Natalie Arm had a big night for East, contributing 13 kills, three aces and seven digs. Kate Woolsey had eight kills, and Devon Hall had seven while Krista Helveston and Jenn Krzeminski both had five. Helveston also had one ace and five digs. Erin Lane had six digs, and setter Madie D’Angelo contributed 40 assists, one ace and six digs.
Coach Scott Geller also acknowledged the strong defensive play of Emma Goll and Morgan Beakley (three digs).
For the Panthers, Shiann Alpha had four blocks and two kills while Casey Cunnane led the way defensively.
CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, WILLIAM TENNENT 0 (25-8, 25-16, 26-24).
The Bucks swept the Panthers in a non-league match on Monday.
Contributing strong performances for the Bucks at the net were Sophia Videva (six kills, two blocks, three aces, two digs), Katie Hudson (six kills, two aces, three digs) and Julia Schweibenz (five kills, two blocks, seven digs). Setter Kayla King had 22 assists to go along with two aces, four kills and 10 digs. April Neeld (two kills, four digs, one block), Deanna Mattioli (two kills, four digs) and Kailey Prall (seven digs) also contributed.
The Bucks improved to 6-0 overall (4-0 SOL).
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, SOUDERTON 1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-13)
The visiting Indians hung tough and won the second set, but the Titans responded by winning the next two.
For the Indians, Savannah Bostwick had 24 digs to lead the defense. Setter Lauren Hamilton had 19 assists while teammate Talia Watson had 11. Tori Reiner led the Indians at the net with 12 kills and four blocks. Also contributing at the net were Terry Wilcox (six kills, 12 digs), Monica Miller (six kills) and Melissa Gould (four kills, four blocks). Haley Novak had eight digs and three aces. Miranda Baronett had 10 digs, and Molly McCarthy had four blocks.
NORTH PENN 3, PENNRIDGE 2 (10-25, 24-26, 25-17, 26-24, 15-9)
The Lady Rams won the opening two sets but dropped the next three as the Maidens came away with the big win.
For the Rams, Steph Judkins had 25 kills and 12 digs. Ana Vinantonio had six aces, and setter Jessica heckler had 38 assists.
UPPER MERION 3, ABINGTON 1 (25-13, 25-21, 17-25, 25-21)
The Vikings defeated the Ghosts in four hard-fought sets, upping their conference record to 5-0. Carlye Odorsio had another big night for the Vikings, contributing 12 kills and 26 assists. Carolyn Helenski added 11 kills while Emma Andraka contributed 17 digs and eight kills.
For the Ghosts, Leah Simmons had 19 kills and eight digs while Claire Gassman added 10 kills, seven digs and two aces. Setter Emma Garg contributed 39 assists, four digs, two aces and two kills. Jamie Kidd led the defense with 20 digs to go along with two aces. Grace Whitney (five kills, three blocks) and Hannah Dalton (four kills, two blocks) also contributed.
UPPER DUBLIN 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23)
According to coach Paul Choi, Monday’s match against the Colonials was a very good match against a strong receiving team.
“PW was solid in their back row and really made us work to get our points,” he said. “Dublin worked hard to keep constant pressure on PW and got contributions from everyone.”
Bryn Stek led the team in aces (2) and also contributed two kills and dished out 31 assists while having nine digs. Jenny McAneney led the offense in attacks but also recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs, followed by Gabbi Johnson with seven kills and a team-high 24 digs. Josie Barrett also had 23 digs.
“I credit our middles (Alison Gouveia and Sarah Dennin) on their work offensively and their net play on defense,” Choi said. “We had a combined five blocks throughout the match.”
PENNSBURY 3, NESHAMINY 0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-15)
Elle Patterson led the Falcons at the net with 12 kills while setter Kate Foley handed out 20 assists. The Falcons were sparked by a strong serving game that included 12 team aces.
