Central Bucks East survived yet another close Continental Conference match on Friday afternoon.
The Patriots slipped by CB West on a 65th minute goal by Emma Loving. Hannah Zach had the assist in the game’s lone goal.
Katie Dolf was in goal for the shutout for East.
The win keeps the Patriots undefeated in a 2015 season that has seen East consistently come out on top of close games. The Bucks, meanwhile, lose ground on Souderton, who won today, and find themselves in a three-way tie for third in the Continental Conference with CB South and Pennridge.
CB East (7-0, 6-0 SOL) will travel to Villa Joseph Marie for a non-league game on Monday and then will be on the road at Souderton on Tuesday. CB West (4-3-1, 3-2-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks South on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 1, QUAKERTOWN 0
Central Bucks South came out winners in a tight Continental contest with visiting Quakertown, thanks to a late goal.
After a scoreless first half, the Titans came at the Panthers in the second half. Much of it, though, was to no avail.
“We had a lot of pressure inside the 18 pretty much the whole half, but Quakertown held strong and they were really organized in the back,” Titans’ coach Betsy Bullock said. “We had lots of missed opportunities. In fairness to Quakertown, they bunkered in and played really solid defense. They made it hard for us to score.”
South finally found the net in the 77th minute when Kylie Walsh was able to score the game’s lone goal.
“Some of the starters came off the bench,” Bullock said. “Corinne McDonald dribbled across the box flicked it over to Kylie, who made a run right in front of the keeper and touched it into the back of the net.”
The Titans managed 20 shots on goal in the win. Sophia Boggs collected the shutout saving eight shots in goal.
A close game against 2-6 Quakertown speaks to the depth of the Continental.
“We’re in a particularly competitive conference, top to bottom,” Bullock said “Every team has solid, quality players and good coaching. There’s really no easy game. Everybody is very talented.”
After close losses against CB East, Pennridge and a tie with Souderton, Bullock is ready for the back half of the schedule.
“We’re very hungry,” she said.
CB South (4-2-1, 3-2-1 SOL) will be on the road at Central Bucks West on Tuesday. Quakertown (2-6, 1-5 SOL) will host Central Bucks West on Tuesday.
Quakertown 0-0 0
Central Bucks South 0-1 1
SOUDERTON 2, NORTH PENN 1
Souderton grabbed three big points in the close Continental Conference standings with a tightly contested win over North Penn.
After a quiet first half, the scoring heated up in the second half. Tied at 0-0, Kylie Heath drew a penalty kick. Cara McCausland took the PK and converted to give Souderton the lead in the 46th minute.
The Maidens answered back quickly, though. In the 53rd minute, North Penn’s Allison Williams scored to knot the game up at one.
But the Indians would have the last say. Meredith Moore scored in the 65th minute assisted by Mel Witter, a goal that would turn out to be the game-winner for Souderton.
“We worked it a few passes through midfield and got it in to our striker between two defenders, and Moore ran it in and finished it underneath the goalkeeper,” coach Chris Felber said of the goal.
Heath, the team’s captain, made arguably the play of the game late in regulation, saving a ball off the line.
“The goalie came out to deal with the ball and kind of fumbled it, got caught and the ball went over her head and Kylie was there to scoop it up, anticipating it to happen and got it out,” Felber described. “That was a big moment for sure.”
Vivian Feliciani made four saves and Lauren Guthrie had a save for the Indians. Hannah Lambert came up with five saves in net for the Maidens.
The win helps the Indians keep pace in the Continental, as they remain in second place behind unbeaten CB East.
Souderton (6-1-1, 3-1-1 SOL) will host Central Bucks East on Tuesday, and North Penn (3-3-2, 1-2-2 SOL) will be on the road at Hatboro-Horsham.
Souderton 0-2 2

Rachel Coleman found Alexis Smith just outside the 18 to tie the game at two.
