American Conference
WISSAHICKON 1, UPPER DUBLIN 0 (OT)
The first time the American Conference leaders played, we didn’t get a winner. This time we did, and it was a much-needed upset win at that. The Titans, perched right on the 28th and final playoff spot got the win they so desperately needed, handing Upper Dublin its first conference loss in league play.
Talia Abrahams scored 45 seconds into overtime to lift the Trojans over the Flying Cardinals.
Off the opening top of OT, Emily Vervlied served in a long ball. It was deflected and Abrahams was there to finish it off, burying it in the net.
Coach Shannon Creamer-Franke credited the Haney sisters for their outstanding play. Kirsten Haney was able to keep Upper Dublin’s Sizzy Lawton off the stat sheet, and Keanna Haney – in goal for the Trojans – made seven saves, including a diving stop in the first half and a couple nice saves in the second half.
“The team took a few minutes to adjust to Upper Dublin’s speed across the top, but once on the move [we] played an exciting back and forth contest against our foes,” Creamer-Franke said. “The team really worked together, talking and moving, even blocking a direct kick at the top of the 18 nearing the end of regulation time. It was a total team effort making for an exciting match.”
Wissahickon managed nine shots on goal to Upper Dublin’s 12.
Wissahickon (10-5-1, 10-2-1 SOL) will play their final American Conference game Wednesday at Cheltenham. Upper Dublin (12-3-1, 11-1-1 SOL) will take on Springfield at home on Wednesday night. A win will give the Flying Cardinals sole possession of the conference crown.

Ragan Ebersole scored twice and Alyse Caffey added a goal as Plymouth Whitemarsh downed visiting Cheltenham. It’s a crucial win for the Colonials, who are ranked 35th in the latest District One power rankings.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (7-7-2, 7-4-2 SOL) will play Norristown on Wednesday, but the Colonials will need help if they hope to squeak into the postseason. Cheltenham (5-11, 4-9 SOL) will play Wisshahickon on Wednesday.

The Bears scored early and often as they defeated Norristown at home on Monday.

PENNSBURY 2, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 1
The Falcons got a late goal to lift them past Council Rock South in a closely contested game.
Caroline Foley, who scored twice in the Falcons conference-clinching game, scored again in the 33rd minute with an assist from Hopes Drewes. Pennsbury took that 1-0 lead into halftime.
South tied it up in about the 47th minute. Julie Rebh scored with an assist credited to Emily Wilkinson.
The Falcons pulled it out, though. In the 52nd minute, Meredith Webber found Jadyn Peto who deposited the eventual game-winning goal.
Nany Santiago had six saves for the Falcons. Freshman Emily Helmich saved eight shots in goal for the Golden Hawks.
Pennsbury (15-1, 12-1 SOL) will close out National Conference play Wednesday against William Tennent. CR South (6-7-2, 4-7-2 SOL), 34th in Monday’s power rankings, will likely need a win to maintain their playoff hopes on Wednesday when they take on Neshaminy.

Council Rock South 0-1 1
COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 1, ABINGTON 0
Council Rock North pulled out another gutsy victory, defeating a tough Abington squad with help from a late goal.
With five minutes left to play, Kayla Robinson found the back of the net to give the Indians the win. Jeri Belardo was huge again in net for North, stopping seven shots to earn her third consecutive shutout.
The win will help CR North (currently 17th in the power rankings) solidify its spot in the playoffs. The Ghosts are also still in good position after coming into Monday’s game ranked tenth.
CR North (9-4-3, 8-3-2 SOL) will go to Bensalem on Wednesday, and Abington (10-5-1, 7-5-1 SOL) will play host to Harry S. Truman.
Abington 0-0 0

WILLIAM TENNENT 2, BENSALEM 1
William Tennent severely needed this win. The Panthers held on for dear life to beat Bensalem and help its playoff prospects. Sitting at 26th in the power rankings (top 28 make the playoffs), Tennent was in must-win territory with only a tough game with Pennsbury remaining.
Lynne O’Connor scored first for Tennent, taking a pass from Nikki Reh to put the Panthers on the board in the 20th minute. Reh assisted on another goal shortly after, finding Emily Wasserleben in the 31st minute, giving Tennent a nice 2-0 lead at the half.
Bensalem got a goal from Destiny Rogers in the 62nd minute to cut into the lead, but Tennent managed to hold off the Owls the rest of the way, claiming the all important win.
Tennent (9-6-2, 6-5-2 SOL) will get a chance against Pennsbury on Wednesday to further convince the rankings of their worthiness in the postseason. Bensalem (2-14-1, 1-11-1 SOL) will battle CR North on Wednesday.

NORTH PENN 2, SOUDERTON 1 (OT)
Twenty-eight teams make the District One AAA playoffs. North Penn came in against Souderton ranked 29th. To say the Maidens needed this game would be an understatement.
North Penn pulled it off, netting an OT winner to defeat a tough Souderton team.
“It was a tough loss tonight,” Souderton coach Chris Felber said. “Credit to North Penn – they have really improved since earlier in the season, and they certainly created problems.
“Ironically, we played some of our best soccer of the year – we dominated possession, created chances with through balls, crosses, we got behind the back line with speed, we took shots from distance, we looked dangerous from corners and free kicks, but it just didn’t happen.”
Tori Dowd found the back of the net to put Souderton up 1-0 before the half.
Fifty-one seconds into the second half, Anna Pedicone tied it up for North Penn. Kat Stevenson had the assist. It stayed that way through the end of regulation.
With 2:11 remaining in the first overtime period, Sophia Broadhurst scored with an assist from Pedicone to lift North Penn to a crucial win.
Vivian Feliciani made eight saves for the Indians. Hannah Lambert had five saves in net for North Penn.
“Great defensive effort especially Liz Volz, Riley Houlihan, Jani Johnston and Kat Stevenson,” Maidens’ coach Jim Dehner said. “Allison Williams also had a dominating game.”
Felber also credited the performances of several players.
“Massive credit to (sophomore) Tori Dowd and (freshman) Allie Trick, who just looked so good on the outside of the field and getting behind the backline and to (sophomore) Bre DiRenzi, and (senior) Kristen Peri, who helped dominate the ball in the middle – they where amazing tonight,” the Indians’ coach said. “It’s great to think that so many of these girls have a number of years to still give to the program. (We’re) waiting now for some good luck to start flowing our way.”
Monday’s win will likely go a long way for North Penn and its playoff dreams. The Maidens have now won four straight games against tough Continental opponents, beating both CB West and Pennridge last week.
North Penn (7-7-2, 5-6-2 SOL) will need another win Wednesday against Hatboro-Horsham to keep the momentum going.
Souderton (9-6-1, 6-6-1 SOL) was ranked 20th in the district coming into the game and will be faced with a tough game on Wednesday against conference champs CB East.
North Penn 0-1-1 2
Souderton 1-0-0 1
CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 1, CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 0
Paul Eisold’s message to his team has been the same all season: stay the task. After a scoreless first half against CB West, the CB East coach reminded his team of that.
His girls did exactly that in a hard fought battle. With 57 seconds remaining, Emma Loving found Bri Talbot inside the box and the junior finished it off.
The undefeated top team in the district won again, knocking off the defending state champions for the second time this season. Talbot’s last minute goal lifted the Patriots to a 1-0 victory.
“This team just plays. They find a way. They continue to do it,” Eisold said. “We know teams are going to box Emma out. We know teams are going to pack it inside the 18. We know all that stuff, but the will to find a way just continues.”
East kept possession in the West third for most of the game, particularly in the second half, drawing a number of corners. The Bucks defense held strong though, denying a few dangerous opportunities.
Finally, East got one past.
After the West defense fended off a tight scrum in front of their net, the Patriots got the ball back and pushed back in the 18. Then Loving found Talbot.
“Emma got the ball and there was a wide open lane so she made a great touch and I was able to sneak it under the goalie with a toe poke, and it was just a matter of getting it in,” Talbot said.
“We’d been pressuring the whole game and I think we were getting some opportunities that we didn’t finish on,” Loving said. “At the end, we were able to put ourselves in a good position, and Bri made a really good run in the box and was able to have patience and finish.”
Talbot controlled the middle of the field all night for the Patriots. Her hard work paid off with her third game-winning goal of the season.
“She’s physical, she’s wins the air game, she gets forward,” Eisold said of Talbot. “She’s actually a converted defender to midfield and she’s been super this year.”
Loving faced constant pressure all night; there was an omnipresent West player on her back the entire game.
“Emma stays the task,” Eisold said, referring back to his team’s mantra. “She doesn’t stop, she doesn’t die. She just never stops. And the tighter you play her, the more the willing she is to break it.”
For the Bucks, Monday’s loss surely hurts. West sits at 33rd in the power rankings and even a tie against the Patriots would have gone a long way.
“I’m heartfelt for them for the loss,” Bucks coach Chris Shank said. “The seniors wanted it. We’re on the outside looking in for the playoff picture. A tie would have been a good result for us.”
In the closing minutes, West lost keeper Jenny Sutorius to an apparent facial injury. Gracie Connelly took over to play the rest of the game.
Still, West’s young defense kept them in the game. Freshman Meghan Gallagher made two great plays. On one occasion, she kicked away a would-be Emma Loving breakaway, and late in the game, Gallagher kicked a would-be Emma Loving goal off the line.
“She has the body and the size,” Shank added. “We said to her in the beginning of the season: ‘don’t play like a freshman. You are theoretically, but don’t play like one.’”
The raucous crowd let everyone know Gallagher is, in fact, a freshman, though, when they chanted “FRESH-MAN” after her two big stops.
Chalk Monday night up as another character win for East. The Patriots (16-0, 13-0 SOL) will play their last Continental game Wednesday against Souderton at home. West (6-7-2, 5-6-2 SOL) will face a must-win scenario against the other Central Bucks, battling the Titans of South on Wednesday.
Central Bucks East 0-1 1
Central Bucks West 0-0 0
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2, QUAKERTOWN 1
CB South will stay in second place in the Continental, edging out Quakertown on the road, Monday night.
Kelly Senour struck first, taking a pass from Kylie Walsh to make it 1-0 headed into halftime.
Quakertown answered early in the second half, though. Katie Crouthamel headed in a shot off a corner to tie the game up.
But the Titans then got a corner for themselves. Heather McDermott crossed it in and found Mackenzie Ehresman for the decisive goal.
CB South (10-4-2, 7-4-2 SOL) will play CB West in Warrington on Wednesday night. Quakertown (4-12-1, 3-9-1 SOL) will travel to Pennridge Wednesday night.
Central Bucks South 1-1 2
Quakertown 0-1 1
PENNRIDGE 4, HATBORO-HORSHAM 0
The Rams kept pace, cruising past Hatboro-Horsham Monday night.

In the 70th minute, the Rams got another insurance goal when Jess Milligan scored off a corner by Meehan.
Kaitlyn Moran and Mary Kate Levush shared time in goal to preserve the shutout for the Rams.
Pennridge (10-4-2, 7-4-2 SOL) will host Quakertown on Wednesday night. Hatboro-Horsham (1-15, 1-12 SOL) will go to North Penn on Wednesday night where they will finish their league schedule.
Pennridge 3-1 4
