MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
IUP sophomore Austin Cooper (Upper Merion) earned first team All-PSAC honors with a 15th place finish at the 2015 PSAC Championships on Saturday morning, crossing the line with a time of 25:57.7.
James Wilson (Central Bucks South) finished sixth for Bloomsburg with a time of 29:40 while Tim Silverthorn (Council Rock South) was seventh in 30:19 at the 2015 PSAC Championships on Saturday. Alex Moran (Pennridge) rounded out the Huskies lineup with a finish of 31:58. Bloomsburg finished ninth as a team.
Shippensburg sophomore Alex Balla (Quakertown) posted a fourth place time of 25:12 at the 2015 PSAC Championships on Saturday, earning first team All-PSAC honors. It was Balla’s first ever turn as SU’s number one runner as he came within nine seconds of his 8K PR despite having to navigate Slippery Rock’s oft-undulating terrain. Balla placed 30th a year ago as SU’s No. 8 runner. Shippensburg finished second in the team standings.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) finished third and helped lead Bloomsburg to a fifth place finish at the 2015 PSAC Championships on Saturday, posting a time of 22:00 and earning first team All-PSAC honors. Finishing fourth for the Huskies and 48th overall was Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) in 24:06. The Huskies competed without their fourth runner, Keelan McDonald (Central Bucks West).
Shippensburg freshman Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) broke the 24-minute mark and placed 40th with a time of 23:53 at the 2015 PSAC Championships on Saturday. Shippensburg placed third as a team.
FIELD HOCKEY
Sophomore Emma Rosenthal (Central Bucks East) made four saves in goal in Muhlenberg’s 2-1 win at Gettysburg on Friday.
Sophomore Megan Hamilton (Central Bucks South) collected her fourth goal of the season in Providence’s 4-3 overtime loss to ninth-ranked Liberty. The CB South graduate carried the ball from the top of the circle to the right post off a restart. Once she reached the post, she fired the ball to the far left corner of the cage, unassisted.
Lauren Becker (Wissahickon) scored her fourth goal of the season in No. 13 Stanford’s 5-1 win over UC Davis on Friday.
Senior Taylor Prichett (William Tennent) scored her team’s only goal in Delaware Valley’s 5-1 loss to Wilkes University on Wednesday.
Junior Marissa Glatt (Central Bucks East) single-handedly gave her team a 1-0 lead at the 61:35 as she took the ball all the way from the midfield to the goal and made a touch past the keeper in Lehigh’s 2-1 win over Colgate on Saturday.
Graduate student Hannah Heritage (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored the first goal of her career in Elizabethtown’s 7-0 win over Drew on Saturday. With the win, the team clinched a postseason playoff spot.
Rachel Valentine (Souderton) scored a goal to give Lock Haven a 1-0 halftime lead, but Saint Louis came back to earn a 2-1 win over LHU on Saturday. In Friday’s 4-0 win over Appalachian State, Colleen McCabe (William Tennent) had an assist while Maddie Wagenfeld (Hatboro-Horsham) split time in goal, earning the start and making three saves in the shutout win. In last Sunday’s 4-1 win over Lehigh, Valentine had an assist, and McCabe helped lead the defensive charge. Wagenfeld was credited with nine saves in a strong outing.
Sophomore Rachael Mueller (William Tennent) scored a goal in Temple’s 4-1 win over Lafayette on Sunday.
Junior Alyssa Buckley (Springfield) scored on a diving shot in Widener’s 3-2 loss to Lebanon Valley on Saturday.
Freshman Shelby Landes (Souderton) had six saves to help lead No. 18 Messiah to its third straight shutout in Friday’s 3-0 win over Albright. In Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Lebanon Valley, Kristin Donohue (Council Rock South) broke a scoreless tie with a goal late in the first half. Landes made two saves in goal to claim her second shutout of the season and second in as many games.
Sophomore Melissa Herd (Pennridge) scored a goal on a penalty corner in St. Joseph’s 6-3 win over Georgetown on Sunday.
Freshman Katherine McVeagh (Springfield) contributed an assist in Scranton’s 9-2 win over Moravian on Saturday.

Kelly Schlupp (Council Rock South) recorded her fourth shutout of the season in The College of New Jersey’s 3-0 win over William Patterson on Saturday, finishing with three saves. In Tuesday’s 2-1 win over Rowan, Schlupp finished with 10 saves for her 13th win of the season.
Abigail Gabriel (Souderton) recorded a pair of goals and Maggie Walsh (Central Bucks South) contributed an assist in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-0 win over Keystone College on Saturday.
FOOTBALL
Matt Johns (Central Bucks South) was 17-of-30 for 148 yards with one touchdown in Virginia’s 26-13 loss to North Carolina on Saturday.
Sophomore Darius Wills (Norristown) had his first career interception midway through the fourth quarter and made it count, returning it 85 yards for a touchdown in Shippensburg’s 70-7 rout of Cheyney on Saturday. Wills also recovered a fumble and had 1.5 sacks in the game. Senior wide receiver Sheldon Mayer (Norristown), making his 30th career start, caught three passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns. Mayer moved into a tie for second place in school history with Mike Harris (’09) for career receptions (197).
Redshirt freshman Craig Reynolds (Abington) had a team high nine catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in Kutztown’s 63-17 win over East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
West Chester defensive end George Shipp (Souderton) was named the PSAC East Defensive Player of the
Week after Saturday’s 33-22 win over Bloomsburg. Shipp led West Chester in tackles with six, including a pair of sacks and a forced fumble while also recording a safety. Shipp was part of a defense that limited the Huskies’ ground game to 75 yards and just 181 yards of total offense. In all, WCU’s front seven registered eight quarterback hurries, four sacks and pressured Bloomsburg quarterback Tim Kelly into throwing three interceptions. West Chester is in a four-way tie for first place in the Eastern Division standings of the PSAC entering week nine of the season.
Senior defensive end Andrew Cohen (Council Rock South) had a pair of sacks and four quarterback hurries in West Chester’s 33-22 win over Bloomsburg on Saturday. Bloomsburg’s offensive line had allowed just four sacks on the year coming into Saturday’s contest. Kavon Johnson (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had six stops. Shipp finished with six tackles, including a pair of sacks and a forced fumble.
Rasheed Johnson (Norristown) was credited with nine tackles – which included one tackle for a loss and one sack – in Millersville’s 36-28 loss to Lock Haven on Saturday. Kenny Williams (Plymouth Whitemarsh) added four tackles.
Junior running back Corey Kelly (Plymouth Whitemarsh) rushed for one touchdown in Ursinus College’s 48-21 loss to Susquehanna on Saturday.
MEN’S GOLF
Senior Mike Lam (Neshaminy) led Penn State Abington with a 79 to tie for fourth out of 15 golfers in a tri-match between Philadelphia University and Chestnut Hill last Sunday. Sean Ailtmar (Central Bucks South) shot a 90.
St. Joseph’s senior TJ Summers (Central Bucks West) tied for 37th with a two-round total of 80-76/156 at the Georgetown Hoya Intercollegiate on Monday. Tyler Sokolis (Central Bucks West) rounded out the five-man team, tying for 59th at 82-80/162. St. Joe’s finished 11th overall.
Rodney Anders (Souderton) improved his position six places after following his first day total of 79 to shoot a 77 on day two of the PSAC Championships. Millersville finished in seventh place.
Matt Teesdale (Hatboro-Horsham), a standout performer for Temple’s golf team the last three seasons,
has joined the Owls staff as an assistant coach. “We are excited to have Matt come on board as an assistant with the program,” coach Brian Quinn said. “He had a great career here, and his experience will be a tremendous help to the young men on the squad.” The Hatboro-Horsham graduate was the team’s third best golfer in each of the last two seasons with a 75.6 stroke average as a senior and a 75.1 average as a junior. He placed second on the squad as a sophomore with a career-best 74.4 stroke average. Teesdale, who won the Philadelphia area’s prestigious Open Championship in 2014, registered four Top 10 finishes and tied teammate Brandon Matthews for the 2013 Princeton Invitational title with a four-under par 209. He also advanced to match play at the 2014 US Amateur Championship.

Redshirt senior Kyle MacDonald (Pennsbury) scored his first goal of the season in Penn State’s 3-0 win over Loyola Marymount on Wednesday.
Richard Domico (Neshaminy) scored his team’s only goal in Penn State Abington’s 2-1 loss to Wells College on Sunday afternoon. In Saturday’s 1-1 double overtime tie with Keuka, sophomore Joel Klapper (Central Bucks West) recorded his first goal of the year. Damico had the assist.
Austin Transue (Neshaminy) scored the game winner in Bloomsburg’s 1-0 win over West Chester on Saturday afternoon. The Neshaminy graduate took the ball 50 yards on a breakaway and beat the goalkeeper in the 16th minute. In Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to East Stroudsburg, Transue scored his team’s only goal, using an assist from teammate Kenny Herrmann (Neshaminy).
Joe Farrell (Wissahickon) scored a goal in La Salle’s 2-1 overtime loss to Rhode Island on Saturday.
Freshman midfielder Alex Kardos (Pennsbury) contributed an assist in East Stroudsburg’s 3-1 win over Bloomsburg on Wednesday. Kardos, who has started all 15 games in the midfield as a freshman, has two goals this year and pushed his assist total to four.
Freshman Joe Dellobuono (Norristown) scored his first collegiate goal in the 78th minute in Gwynedd Mercy’s 2-1 loss to Cabrini on Tuesday. Senior Sheldon Fogle (Bensalem) had the assist.

McDaniel sophomore Sarah McDonald (Pennsbury) was named the Centennial Conference Defensive
Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 12-18. McDonald led the Green Terror to a 1-0-1 week, posting a 0.54 goals-against average in net. She did not need to make a save in 57 minutes of action in a 3-0 shutout of Franklin & Marshall. In a battle of undefeated teams, McDonald keyed a 1-1 draw with No. 18 Swarthmore, making five saves. For the season, she has a 0.42 goals-against average and .868 save percentage. She is 12-0-1 in goal.
McDonald had eight saves in goal, including a diving save late in overtime to preserve the shutout, in McDaniel’s scoreless draw with Gettysburg on Wednesday. In Saturday’s 3-1 win over Haverford, McDonald made two saves in goal.
Sophomore Megan Schafer (Neshaminy) scored her team leading ninth goal of the season in Penn State’s 2-1 win over Ohio State on Saturday night. The Neshaminy graduate scored the game’s first goal from 12 yards out. The game remained 1-0 until freshman Marissa Sheva (Pennridge) netted her third career goal as a Nittany Lion in the 39th minute. After a giveaway near midfield, Sheva found the back of the net from 15 yards out.

Zoe Traficante (Central Bucks West) scored an unassisted goal in Virginia Wesleyan College’s 1-0 win over Randolph College on Tuesday.
Kaceyanne Cerankowski (Neshaminy) scored her team-leading seventh goal of the season in Elizabethtown’s 3-1 loss to Arcadia on Wednesday. The loss snapped a five-game Elizabethtown winning streak.
Molly Wyman (Abington) notched her seventh goal of the season in the 21st minute in Penn State Abington’s 3-2 win over Wells College on Sunday afternoon. In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Keuka, Mallory Mugnier (Abington) scored a goal while Wyman had an assist.
Sophomore Sarah Nedwick (North Penn) put her team on the board in the 35th minute when she finished off a rebound off a corner kick in Gwynedd Mercy’s 1-0 shutout win over Marywood University on Tuesday.
Erin Lafferty (Upper Dublin) scored the equalizer in the 87th minute when she converted a penalty kick in, and with 27 seconds remaining took another penalty kick, once again finding the net to propel Temple to a dramatic 3-2 overtime win over SMU on Thursday. Earlier in the game, Shannon Senour (Central Bucks South) headed the ball into the net for the Owls’ first goal, using a pass from Paula Jurewicz (Council Rock South). Lafferty tied a program record for career games played at 77. She has seven goals on the season. For the first time in program history, the Owls have posted back-to-back 11-win season and have a chance to set the record. In last Sunday’s 2-1 overtime win over Memphis, Lafferty crossed a free kick that hit the back post but was headed back across by Senour and tapped in for the game winner in the 97th minute of play by teammate Gina DiTaranto.
St. Joseph’s University freshman midfielder Michaela Finneyfrock (Council Rock North) was named
Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 18. The Council Rock North alum garnered the award after scoring the game-winning goal at Richmond. With the game tied 1-1 late, Finneyfrock converted her opportunity, scoring her second goal of the season with just under four minutes to play to lift Saint Joseph’s to a 2-1 victory.

Gwynedd Mercy senior Taylor Michener (Central Bucks South) was selected to the CSAC Women’s Tennis Honor Roll for the week ending Oct. 18 as she helped the Griffins to another undefeated conference record. Michener recorded a 4-0 week for the Griffins in both singles and doubles. At number one singles, she won both of her matches in straight sets against Marywood and Cedar Crest. At number two doubles, she won 9-8 (Marywood) and 8-0 (Cedar Crest) as the team clinched the top playoff seed in the CSAC Team Tournament.
Michener was part of the second doubles team that earned an 8-4 win while teammates Jenna Caffarello (North Penn) and Kristen Kriebel (Pennridge) teamed for an 8-0 win at third doubles in Gwynedd Mercy’s 5-0 win over Marywood in Saturday’s Colonial States Athletic Conference Team Tournament Championship. It is the program’s seventh title and second in a row. In Friday’s 9-0 semifinal win over Cabrini, Michener, Kriebel and Caffarello were all winners.

Freshman Eryn Brady (Upper Merion) had 11 kills (a .296 attack percentage) and five assists in York College’s 3-2 loss to Frostburg State on Wednesday.
Holy Family freshman Candyce Riley (Hatboro-Horsham) was listed on the Central Atlantic Collegiate
Conference Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending Oct. 18. Holy Family went 3-0 for the week. Riley extended her streak of double digit digs to 11 straight matches this past week as she totaled 43 digs between the three matches to average 4.30 per set. She led the team with 19 digs in the upset win versus Post to go along with three service aces. Riley totaled 14 digs versus Chestnut Hill and finished with 10 digs at USciences. She leads the team with 4.40 digs per set this season and is ranked sixth among the conference leaders. Riley is also fourth in the CACC with 30 aces.
Freshman Jaime Bonner (William Tennent) had six kills and three digs in Holy Family’s 3-0 win over Nyack on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 3-1 loss to Georgian Court, Riley recorded 19 digs and four aces.
Senior Cassidy Koenig (Upper Merion) became just the ninth active student-athlete in Division III to
record 4,000 career assists. After Cabrini’s pair of losses at the Rowan University Quad on Saturday, Koenig, the program’s career assists leader, now has 4,023 career helpers. In Cabrini’s 3-1 loss to Scranton, Koenig tallied a double-double with 37 assists and 11 digs to go with her two service aces. In Cabrini’s 3-2 loss to New York University later in the day, Koenig tallied her second double-double of the day, pairing 48 assists with 10 digs. Freshman Emily Shannon (Upper Merion) had 14 digs. In Friday’s 3-0 win over Rowan, Koenig had 34 assists and seven digs. In Thursday’s 3-0 win over Summit University. Koenig had 32 assists and seven digs, and Shannon posted a career high five services aces to go with three kills and four digs. In Cabrini’s 3-1 win over Keystone College later in the day, Koenig scored her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with 40 assists and 12 digs.
Freshman Catherine Zhushma (William Tennent) had a team high 24 digs in Penn State Abington’s tri-match with Keuka and Wells on Saturday. The Nittany Lions dropped both matches.
Stephanie Elechko (North Penn) had a team high 10 kills in No. 14 Eastern University’s 3-0 win over Richard Stockton on Tuesday. In Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Wilkes, Elechko had nine kills.
Senior Audrey Stringer (Kutztown) recorded a team high 12 kills and also tallied six blocks and four digs in Kutztown’s 3-1 loss to Shippensburg on Saturday. In KU’s 3-0 win over Clarion, Stringer finished with 14 kills and five blocks. In Friday’s 3-1 loss to Millersville, Stringer led the way with 10 kills and seven blocks. She has recorded double-digit kills in 13 matches this season and 49 times in her career. Stringer also recorded five or more blocks for the 14th time this season and 38th time of her career. She now ranks fifth all time in KU history with 1,024 career kills and sixth with 373 total blocks.
