Senior Ryan Arcidiacono (Neshaminy) contributed 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds in No. 11 Villanova’s 75-56 win over Akron on Sunday in the NIT Season Tipoff. He had zero turnovers.
Julian Bond (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored nine points in Lock Haven’s 74-70 road win at Slippery Rock on Sunday.
Redshirt junior Ryan Connolly (Souderton) contributed 17 points, nine rebounds and tied his career high with two blocks in Kutztown’s 71-70 overtime loss to Mercyhurst on Sunday. The Souderton graduate has scored in double figures in all four games for Kutztown and has shot 50 percent or better from the field in each game. Josh Johnson (Norristown) recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and two blocks while Anthony Lee (Abington) added five points and five rebounds. In Saturday’s 92-82 win over Edinboro, Connolly scored 11 of his 22 career high points in the opening half. He tied his career high with six field goals made and set a career high with his five three-pointers. Johnson added 15 points and pulled down a team high 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. In Wednesday’s 105-83 win over Cheyney, Johnson posted his first double-double of the season with 23 points on 10-for-15 shooting and 11 rebounds. Connolly added 12 points.
Freshman Evan Slone (Souderton) scored four of his team’s first five points in overtime in Arcadia’s 90-87 come-from-behind double overtime win over Old Westbury on Saturday. Slone finished with eight points, six rebounds and three blocked shots.
Senior Jaylen Bond (Plymouth Whitemarsh) put up a double-double in Temple’s 74-69 loss to #22/20 Butler on Friday in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off semifinals. In Thursday’s 75-70 win over Minnesota in the first game of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Bond put up 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field to lead the Owls. He scored 10 of the Owls’ first 13 points to keep them on pace with the Gophers.
Sophomore Aaron Burton (Cheltenham) scored 13 points in DeSales University’s 89-79 loss to Salisbury on Saturday at the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic at Stevenson University. In Friday’s 74-64 loss to St. John Fisher, Burton had 11 points, and in Tuesday’s 79-69 win over Rosemont College, Burton had eight points and a career high 15 rebounds.
Senior Julian Hyden (Bensalem) scored a team high 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field while also
pulling down a career high 14 rebounds in Gwynedd Mercy’s 81-64 loss to Stockton in the Stockton Tip-off Classic on Saturday. Aaron Morgan (Council Rock North) added 15 points, which included 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. Hyden and Morgan were named to the all-tournament team. In the Griffins 93-81 opening round win over Wesley, Morgan had 16 points and 10 assists while Hyden added 16 points and nine rebounds. In Tuesday’s 90-77 loss to Arcadia, Hyden contributed 20 points and nine rebounds.
Freshman guard Jimmy Murray (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored nine points in Moravian’s 98-70 win over SUNY Old Westbury in the third place game of the New York University Tournament on Sunday evening. In Saturday’s 104-76 loss to NYU, Murray had 14 points. In Wednesday’s 78-72 loss to Centenary College, Murray netted a team high 19 points.
Dave Knox (Central Bucks South) had eight points and eight rebounds in Washington College’s 77-67 win over Elizabethtown on Saturday.
Wes Brooks (North Penn) contributed nine points and four steals in McDaniel’s 58-52 loss to York College in the championship game of the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament on Saturday. The North Penn graduate earned a spot on the all-tournament team. In Friday’s 77-65 opening round win over Pitt-Greensburg, Brooks scored a career high 22 points to lead the Green Terror.

Freshman Nicole Munger (Central Bucks West) had 12 points off the bench in Michigan’s 92-54 win over Xavier on Thursday night.
Sophomore Kaitlin Kelly (Pennsbury) scored a career-high 19 points to lead DeSales University to an 81-58 win over Gwynedd Mercy in non-conference action on Saturday.
Tyra Roberts (Bensalem) picked up a double-double in Alvernia’s 60-51 win over Oswego State in the consolation game of the Oswego State Women’s Basketball Tournament hosted by Oswego State University. The Bensalem graduate was named to the Max Ziel All-Tournament team. In Wednesday’s 76-72 win at Misericordia, Roberts had 16 points.

Amie Eppolito (Pennsbury) scored a game high 25 points, finishing 5-for-14 from the field (4-for-9 from beyond the arc), in Cairn University’s 61-47 loss to New Jersey City University on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 87-49 loss to Penn State Hazleton, Eppolito scored 29 points, which included five three-pointers. She also had seven rebounds.
Senior Stephanie Knauer (North Penn) scored in double digits for the third straight game, finishing with 10 points and seven rebounds in Shippensburg’s 76-56 win over East Stroudsburg on Wednesday.
Sophomore Larisssa Leyes (Upper Dublin) scored 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc in Gwynedd Mercy’s 69-63 win over Arcadia on Tuesday night.
Freshman Shelby Schoonover (Pennridge) had seven points in Lycoming’s 69-50 win over Penn College on Saturday. In Tuesday’s’ 75-55 win over Penn State Hazleton, Schoonover notched six points and two rebounds.

Alysha Lofton (Central Bucks South) scored 11 points in Albright’s 79-75 win over Washington & Lee in the first game of the Terry Greene Tip-Off Classic at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 71-47 win over Ursinus, Lofton had 12 points while Emily O’Donnell (William Tennent) finished with 10 points.
Regie Robinson (Upper Merion) scored eight points off the bench in Eastern University’s 94-86 win over the College of Staten Island on Saturday. In Friday’s 67-62 loss to UT-Dallas in the opening round of the Kean Classic, Robinson scored a team high 20 points. Through three career games, the freshman guard has 55 points. In Wednesday’s 62-48 win over Cabrini, Robinson fought through foul trouble to score a game high 20 points. The rookie guard scored of her team’s final 15 points and had an assist, three steals and an offensive rebound over the final five minutes of the game.
Keifonna Ferguson (Norristown) had six rebounds in Kutztown’s 59-58 loss at Mercyhurst on Sunday.
MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Temple senior Alex Izewski (Central Bucks East) closed out his career with a top-40 finish at the IC4A Championships on Saturday. The CB East graduate finished in 39th place with a time of 26:55.2.
Sophomore Alex Balla (Quakertown) was Shippensburg’s number three runner at the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championships hosted by Missouri Southern State University on Saturday, posting a time of 30:44. Shippensburg placed fifth out of 32 teams.
La Salle junior Francis Ferruzzi (Upper Dublin) finished in 26th place at the IC4A Championships at Van Cortland Park on Saturday, posting a time of 26:19.7 to earn 20 points towards the team score. Junior Chris Berry (Central Bucks West) crossed the line in a time of 26:56.0 to finish in 40th place and earn 32 team points. La Salle finished in fourth place overall with 90 team points.

Penn State senior Tori Gerlach (Pennridge) posted a time of 29:49.3 at the 2015 NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky., on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions finished 16th as a team.
Shippensburg freshman Jackie Kinkead (Central Bucks East) posted a time of 24:04 at the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championships hosted by Missouri Southern State University on Saturday. The Raiders finished in 22nd place overall.
Bloomsburg’s Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) closed out her collegiate cross country career by competing at the NCAA Division II National championships on Saturday in Joplin, Mo. Dodds finished 42nd overall in 21:31.2, just missing All-American honors for the second straight year. The senior was an All-American last year in cross country as well as in outdoor track and field after finishing third in the spring of 2015 at 10,000 meters.
FIELD HOCKEY

Junior forward Amber Steigerwalt (Central Bucks South) scored a goal and also contributed an assist in Ursinus College’s 5-0 win over No. 20 Rochester in last Sunday’s regional final. Senior midfielder Stephanie Cooper (Central Bucks West) contributed an assist, and junior Ann Kopera (Neshaminy) was part of a defense that allowed just three shots over the team’s two regional games while the Bears racked up 61 on the other end. Last Sunday’s win was the team’s third straight shutout, and the Bears allowed just one goal in six games. As a result of the win, the Bears advanced to the final four. In Saturday’s 4-2 loss to top-ranked and unbeaten Bowdoin in an NCAA Division III semifinal game, Kopera and Steigerwalt each had a goal.
Kelly Schlupp (Council Rock South) recorded four saves in The College of New Jersey’s 4-2 loss to Middlebury in a NCAA Tournament semifinal game on Saturday.
FOOTBALL
Quarterback Matt Johns (Central Bucks South) completed 24 of 33 passes for a career high 344 yards and two touchdowns to help Virginia defeat Duke 42-34 on Saturday. For the season, he has completed 229 of 365 passes (62.7 percent) for 2,639 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Ursinus senior Eric Boyer (Upper Dublin) earned first team All-Centennial Conference honors as both a kicker and punter. The Upper Dublin graduate led the league in punting with a 39.7 average, including a long of 58 yards. A first team punter last season as well, Boyer topped the conference with 10 made field goals and was third in scoring with 45 points after going 15-for-18 on extra points. He was the Centennial Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after drilling three field goals in a narrow 10-9 setback to Muhlenberg, the longest a 40-yarder. Boyer made 37 field goals over his four years with the Bears and went 117-for-131 (89.3 percent) on extra points for a total of 228 points.
Tight end Kip Patton (Norristown) had a 13-yard touchdown run that gave Temple a 21-12 lead on its way to a 31-12 win over No. 21 Memphis in front of 31,708 fans at Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday. Wide receiver Brandon Shippen (Norristown) had a 49-yard reception.
Shippensburg senior Sheldon Mayer (Norristown) received first team All-PSAC Eastern Division honors at
both wide receiver and also as a return specialist. This is the third straight season he earned first team honors at wide receiver and the second time he earned first team honors as a return specialist. He is just the second Red Raider in history with five All-PSAC first team honors, joining Miami Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes. As a receiver, Mayer finished the season with team highs in receptions (45), receiving yards (626) and touchdown catches (nine). Mayer finished his career second all-time in SU history in career receptions (209) and fourth in career receiving yards (2,920). Mayer had a historic season returning punts, setting school records for punt return average (22.3 yards per return) and punt return touchdowns (three). The Norristown graduate became the first SU player to return two punts for touchdowns in a game when he did it against Millersville on Oct. 31. Mayer won PSAC East Special Teams Player of the Week twice.
Millersville senior safety Rasheed Johnson (Norristown) was named to the All-PSAC first team. The Norristown graduate ranked fifth in the PSAC in tackles with 99. Johnson is the first Marauder defender to earn first team recognition since 2009. He averaged 9.0 tackles per game, which ranked fifth in the PSAC. He had 10-plus tackles in four games, including a career high 19 against Clarion. Johnson also totaled seven tackles for loss, an interception, a sack and two forced fumbles. He was a key cog in the PSAC’s No. 2 ranked passing defense. Millersville’s No. 5 ranking in total defense was its best in 15 seasons. Johnson finished his Marauder career with 332 tackles (170 solo) in 44 games. He is tied for fifth all time in total tackles and ranks sixth in career solo stops.
West Chester senior defensive end Andrew Cohen (Council Rock South) was named the PSAC Eastern
Division Defensive Player of the Year. The CR South graduate, who also was also named a national finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, broke the conference record for career sacks with 33.5. He notched 13.5 sacks this past fall to lead the conference and rank fifth nationally. He also led the PSAC in tackles for a loss with 20. That number ranked 17th nationally as well. He is a three-time All-PSAC East selection and a two-time first team pick. The eight finalists for the Gene Upshaw Award move on to the national ballot where they will find out who the winner is on Dec. 2. That individual will receive a spot on one of the two rosters in the East-West Shrine Game in late January.
West Chester junior linebacker Ralph Reeves (North Penn) earned second team All-PSAC honors. It was the North Penn graduate’s first appearance on the all-league squad. Reeves led the team in tackles with 65. He also recorded 4.5 tackles for a loss, including 2.5 sacks. He forced a pair of fumbles and broke up a pair of passes. Reeves was also credited with three quarterback hurries.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Sophomore Megan Shafer (Neshaminy) scored a goal in Penn State’s 4-0 win over Ohio State on Sunday. The Neshaminy graduate has scored in three straight matches and for the ninth time in the past 14 matches. As a result of its win, Penn State will play in the NCAA Elite Eight for the 11th time in program history and the third time since 2012. It is the first time in program history that the Nittany Lions have opened the NCAA Tournament with three straight shutouts. Penn State will host West Virginia on Saturday, Nov. 28, 4 p.m. In Friday’s 6-0 second round win over Boston University, Schafer contributed a goal and an assist while freshman Marissa Sheva (Pennridge) also had an assist. In last Friday’s 5-0 opening round win over the University of Albany, Schafer scored her team-leading 11th goal just five minutes into the game.

Arcadia sophomore Jacob Schellinger (North Penn) was part of the 400 free relay that finished second with a time of 3:16.83 at the Diamond City Invitational hosted by King’s College. He finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.93, and in the opening session was part of the winning 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:30.25.
University of Buffalo junior Eric Jenson (Upper Dublin) was part of the first place 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:22.17 at the Bucknell Invitational. He also was part of the third place 800 free relay that finished with a time of 6:44.80.
Kevin Dunigan (North Penn) had a hat trick of first place finishes in Washington & Jefferson’s 150-121 win over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday. He timed 29.14 in the 50 breaststroke while also assisting in the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay.
Junior Dylan Cooper (William Tennent) finished second in the 200 free in Ursinus College’s 132-129 win over Gettysburg on Saturday. Freshman Maxwell Coulter (Pennridge) finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke.
Tim Resch (Springfield) finished fourth in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:07.25 in Albright’s 139-122 win over Messiah on Saturday. The Springfield graduate also placed fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:32.45). Resch and Steve Kolokithias (North Penn) were part of the fourth place 400 medley relay that finished with a time of 4:04.96.
University of North Carolina senior Ozzie Moyer (Souderton) took third place in the 10-meter diving event at the 2015 Janis Hape Dowd Nike Cup Invitational on Saturday. On Friday night, Moyer placed second in the three-meter event with a season best scored of 369.70 points.
La Salle senior CJ Gimpel (Central Bucks South) was named Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Swimming Co-Performer of the Week for the week ending Nov. 22. Gimpel qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships after winning the one-meter diving event with a score of 315.60. This reached the qualifying mark of 300 to qualify for the championships. The CB South graduate also finished second in the three-meter event with a score of 288.98, helping the Explorers finish 1-3 in the event. This is the second year in a row that he has qualified for zones.
Gimpel finished in 10th place in the prelims of the one-meter at the Bucknell Invitational to earn 17 teams points.
West Chester senior Connor Forlini (William Tennent) finished seventh in the 500 freestyle and Geoff Boodey (Council Rock North) was eighth in the event at the Pitt Invitational at the University of Pittsburgh on Friday evening. Forlini’s time of 4:35.94 was a ‘B’ qualifier. On the second day of competition, Forlini was sixth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:04.74. Evan Sherkness (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was part of the winning 200 medley relay that posted a winning time of 1:29.82, which was a provisional qualifying time as well. On the final day of the meet on Sunday, Boodey finished fourth in the 1650 free with a time of 16:03.10 while Forlini was fifth in 16:03.75. Both of those times were ‘B’ qualifying times as well. Sherkness was part of the second place 400 free relay with a ‘B’ time of 3:02.61. West Chester’s men finished second out of six teams.
WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING
Arcadia junior Megan Obarowski (Council Rock South) and freshman Kate Wojnar (Abington) both notched a top-five finish in the 200 butterfly at the 2015 Diamond City Invitational hosted by King’s College. Obarowski placed third after clocking in at 2:25.35 while Wojnar finished fifth in 2:36.28. Obarowski was part of the 400 free relay that placed fifth with a time of 3:57.51, and Wojnar was part of the fifth place 800 free relay that posted a time of 8:44.54. She also placed sixth in the 400 IM with a school record time of 4:59.10. In the opening session of the meet, Obarowski placed seventh in the 200 IM after touching the wall in 2:21.39, and Wojnar placed 11th in the 500 free with a time of 5:42.03. Both were part of the 400 medley relay that finished third with a time of 4:21.03.
University of Buffalo sophomore Eve Kosten (North Penn) placed ninth in the 50 freestyle at the Bucknell Invitational.
Rachel Engelhardt (Hatboro-Horsham) placed second in the 200 free with a time of 2:06.38 in Elizabethtown’s double dual meet against Drew and FDU-Florham on Saturday. She also placed second in the 200 free. Elizabethtown defeated both Drew (124-69) and FDU-Florham (161-32).
Taylor Mateja (Upper Merion) was part of Franklin & Marshall’s 200 free relay that claimed 10th place with a time of 1:41.29 at the F&M Invitational. She and Colleen Lawlor (Council Rock North) were part of the 200 medley relay that finished 13th with a time of 1;54.90. Lawlor also was part of a 200 free relay that placed 15th with a time of 1:43.68.
Junior Marisa Ferrari (Central Bucks East) was part of the second place 400 free relay that posted a time of 3:45.09 in Ursinus College’s 189-73 win over Gettysburg on Saturday.
Shippensburg senior Carolyn Meier (Upper Dublin) had a pair of top eight swims on the final day of the 2015 Patriot Invitational Hosted by George Mason University. The UD grad finished sixth in the 100 IM with a time of 1:01.59 and seventh in the 100 free with an ‘A’ finals time of 53.17 seconds. Meier was part of the 10th place 400 free relay (3:34.87). She finished the weekend with three top eight finishes, finishing fifth in the 200 free on Friday, posting a time of 1:53.80 which is just .03 seconds off a ‘B’ cut. She also took 13th place in the 50 free back on Thursday, posting a time of 24.38. Meier also was part of the 200 free relay that finished 11th (1:38.93). Sophomore Nicole Martorella (Norristown) finished 14th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.26. She improved to fourth all-time in the event with her new personal best. On Friday, Martorella improved her PR in the 100 breaststroke during the morning swim and then went even faster in the ‘B’ final, finishing 12th overall in 1:06.35. She now is tied for second in school history for the event.
Alex Wheatley (Upper Dublin) swam a season best time of 59.62 in the 100 back in Bloomsburg’s 118-76 win over Edinboro on Saturday. She also was part of the winning 200 medley relay that remained unbeaten this season, posting a time of 1:49.16.
La Salle freshman Olivia DiStefano (North Penn) finished in sixth place in the ‘A’ finals of the 100 backstroke with a time of 56.67 on day two of the Bucknell Invitational, earning 24 points towards the team score. She also finished seventh in the ‘A’ final of the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.80 to earn 23 points. Sophomore Sydney Szopo (Upper Moreland) placed 17th in the one-meter diving event (177.80) and had the team’s top performance in the three-meter diving, scoring 202.20 for a 12th place finish and 15 points.
West Chester senior Dani Barron (Pennridge) placed fourth in the 1650 freestyle in a time of 17:06.49, a ‘B’ provisional qualifying time, at the Pitt Invitational on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh on Sunday. Elizabeth Miller (Neshaminy) was part of the 400 free relay that finished eighth with a time of 3:39.85. On Saturday, Barron was part of the 800 free relay that hit its ‘B’ time of 7:39.38. On day one of the meet Friday, Barron posted a time of 5:00.81 in the 500 free, which was a ‘B’ qualifying time for the NCAAs in March.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Shirley Samson (Council Rock North) swam PSAC qualifying times in the 100 breast (1:10.91) and 200 breast (2:33.68) at the Diamond City Invitational on Saturday. She finished fourth in the 200 breast, sixth in the 100 breast and seventh in the 100 back.
WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Cabrini senior Cassidy Koenig (Upper Merion) earned All-America Honorable Mention from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). She also was named to the AVCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team. Koenig, the 2015 CSAC Player of the Year, accumulated 1,207 assists this season and eclipsed the 4,000-assist plateau for her career, becoming only the fourth player in CSAC volleyball history and the first Cavalier to accomplish that feat. Koenig directed the Cavalier offense to the tune of a .217 hitting percentage with five players accumulating at least 180 kills on the year. She also registered 296 digs, 51 kills, 26 service aces and 11 blocks. The senior setter closed out her career with 4,227 assists, ninth among active NCAA players in 2015. Koenig also recorded 901 career digs and 124 service aces in 131 matches.
Kutztown senior Audrey Stringer (Pennsbury) earned her third career All-PSAC first team honor. She is the fourth player in program history to be named a three-time first team selection. The Pennsbury graduate
posted career highs in nearly every category this year and ranked among the PSAC and NCAA leaders. She threw down 357 kills, ninth in the PSAC this season and eighth most in KU single season history. She held a .321 hitting percentage for fifth in the PSAC and increased her career average to .298 for fifth all time. A middle blocker, Stringer led the PSAC and ranks fourth in NCAA Division II with 156 total blocks as a senior, the second most in program history. She led KU to the second most total blocks in the PSAC and fourth most in Division II this season. KU’s 4.21 blocks-per-set was its best since 2010. The strong output on the defensive side of the ball moved Stringer up to fourth all-time at KU with 416 career blocks and fifth with 87 solo blocks. Stringer is the third player in school history to post 1,000 career kills and 400 blocks. This fall, Stringer posted double-digit kills in more than half her matches (18-of-34). She had 10-plus in 18 of 30 matches last year and 16 of 31 as a sophomore as Stringer concluded her career by posting 10 or more kills in 52 of 95 matches over her final three years (.547). Her best performance came on Sept. 19 when she notched a career high 24 kills against West Liberty, 12th most in a match in KU history and the most by a Golden Bear since 2009. Stringer will graduate in Dec. 2016 with a degree in leisure and sport studies.
Eastern University junior Stephanie Elechko (North Penn) earned All-America Honorable Mention from the AVCA. In her first season as an outside hitter, the North Penn graduate led the Eastern attack with 371 kills. She was named first team All-MAC Freedom for the first time as well.
WRESTLING
Greg Kabakjian (Souderton) earned a 5-4 decision at 157 in Messiah College’s 35-7 win over Thiel at the Mt. Union Duals on Saturday.
Matt Martoccio (Council Rock South), ranked fourth in Division II in his weight class,won a 3-2 decision at 157 in Kutztown’s 36-9 loss to sixth-ranked Pitt-Johnstown.
