BASEBALL
Joe Molettiere (Pennridge) picked up his first save of the season and fourth of his career in Monmouth’s 8-6 win over Niagara on Saturday. Danny Long (Pennridge) collected the fifth multi-hit game of his freshman season and scored three times for the first time in his career.
Zach Schram (Council Rock North) legged out an infield single to open the seventh inning and scored the game-winning run in Kutztown’s 3-2 win over Mansfield in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. He finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored. In Monday’s 8-6 win over LeMoyne in game two of a twinbill split, Ryan Clow (Central Bucks East) threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
Kadar Namey (North Penn) doubled and scored a run in Saint Joseph’s 10-2 loss to Richmond on Friday. In Tuesday’s 11-6 loss to Delaware, Namey was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI.
Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) was 2-for-3 with a home run and run scored, and Shaughn Wright (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored in Gwynedd Mercy’s 7-2 win over Cabrini in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. Dave Tatoian (Pennridge) also hit a solo home run. In the Griffins 10-9 come-from-behind win in game two, Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was 4-for-5 with a triple, home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. Tatoian was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. In Friday’s 6-2 win over Cabrini, Nick Mulvey was 2-for-4 with a run scored, and Tatoian was 2-for-4 with a double and RBI. Wright was 1-for-2 with a stolen base and two runs scored. Zach Dennis (Central Bucks South) threw four innings, striking out a pair and allowing just one run. In Monday’s 10-5 win over Centenary, Nick Mulvey was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored. He hit his first career home run, a solo shot in the seventh inning. Wright also had three hits and a pair of runs knocked in. Jason Mulvey added a two-run triple. Jared Gorman (North Penn) worked six scoreless innings, scattering four hits, to pick up the win.
Junior Matt Radwanski (Central Bucks South) provided 1.1 innings of scoreless relief in Ursinus College’s 4-2 loss to Johns Hopkins on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 12-8 loss to Immaculata, Radwanski tossed a scoreless inning in relief. In Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Swarthmore, David Drea (Central Bucks South) took a no-hitter into the fifth inning before exiting in the eighth, allowing three runs on five hits with one strikeout. He was not involved in the decision. Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) contributed an RBI triple.
Freshman Tom Nuneviller (Pennridge) was 2-for-2 with a double, RBI and run scored in East Stroudsburg’s 4-3 loss to Shippensburg in game one of a doubleheader on Sunday. In ESU’s 4-3 win over Shippensburg in game one of a twinbill sweep on Saturday, Nuneviller had an RBI single. In ESU’s 10-3 win in game two. Conner Crookham (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. He finished the day 3-for-6 with two walks and four runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
Senior Mike Kacergis (Pennridge) had four hits and scored three times in DeSales University’s 10-3 win over Manhattanville College on Friday.
Junior Connor Laigaie (Council Rock South) threw two scoreless innings in relief in Arcadia’s 12-3 victory over Messiah on Friday. In Tuesday’s 8-3 non-conference win over nationally-ranked (No. 28) Misericordia, Laigaie picked up his first career save after tossing four scoreless innings of relief.
Anthony Rigous (Council Rock North) was 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a run scored in IUP’s 3-2 win over Seton Hill in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday.
Colton Hooker (Upper Moreland) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in seventh-ranked Northampton’s 6-3 win over second-ranked Rowan College at Gloucester County on Saturday. In Thursday’s 8-2 win over Luzerne County Community College, Hooker was 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and five RBIs. Starter Zach Conley (Pennsbury) got two innings of work, allowing one hit and striking out three.
Kyle Wenger (Souderton) was 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored in Delaware Valley University’s 7-1 win over FDU-Florham on Friday. In Tuesday’s 6-5 loss to Albright, Wenger was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.
Cory Capaldi (Souderton) had one hit and knocked in two runs in Pace University’s 9-7 loss to LeMoyne College on Sunday.
Mike Christy (North Penn) was 2-for-4 with a double in Elizabethtown’s 5-4 loss to Susquehanna in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Elizabethtown’s 6-3 win in 11 innings in game two of the twinbill, Christy and Nick Bein (Abington) each had one hit. In Wednesday’s 11-3 win over Messiah, Christy was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Bein contributed an RBI.
Trey Guaglionona (Abington) doubled and homered in Penn State Abington’s 13-8 win over Brandywine on Thursday. Matt Meyers (Cheltenham) had one hit, four RBIs and one run scored. In Tuesday’s 13-11 win over the City College of New York, Meyers was 4-for-5 with a single, double and triple and five RBIs. Guaglionona doubled and drove in a run.
Austin DiVonaventure (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and run scored in Chestnut Hill’s 10-5 win over Caldwell in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. Zach Szumigala (Pennsbury) was 2-for-5 with a triple and run scored, and Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) was 2-for-5 with two runs scored. In Chestnut Hill’s 8-3 loss in the nightcap, DiBona was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. In Friday’s 4-3 loss to Goldey-Beacom, Szumigala was 2-for-4. In Wednesday’s 7-4 win over Concordia in game one of a doubleheader sweep, junior Patrick Kelley (Central Bucks West) earned the win, allowing four hits and four runs in 7.1 innings while striking out 11 and walking four. DiBonaventure was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Szumigala doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Jared Melone (North Penn) hit a three-run home run in No. 14 West Chester’s 10-9 come-from-behind win over Bloomsburg in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Sunday. Melone was 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs. In West Chester’s 8-5 win over the University of the Sciences that allowed the Golden Rams to capture their 12th Bill Giles Cup on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park, senior outfielder Robert Knox (Upper Moreland) was 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored.
Junior Dan Morrin (Central Bucks East) earned his 10th career victory and his third of the season after tossing the first two innings of the game as he allowed an unearned run on three hits to go with one strikeout in Moravian’s 5-1 win over No. 12 Alvernia on Wednesday.
Blake Gular (Souderton) was 2-for-4 with a double and one run, Tyler Nowmos (Council Rock North) was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run and Cole Swiger (Upper Dublin) was 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in Bloomsburg’s 10-9 loss to West Chester in game two of a doubleheader on Sunday. In Saturday’s 4-3 win in game one of a doubleheader split, Swiger hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to give the Huskies a 4-0 lead. He finished the game 2-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBIs and two runs scored. Nowmos was 1-for-2 with a run scored.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Laura Harper (Cheltenham) will join the staff of new University of Florida head coach Cameron Newbauer
as an assistant coach. Harper, the 2006 Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four and cog for Maryland’s national championship team, served as an assistant coach at George Washington University for the 2016-17 campaign. Prior to that, she served as an assistant at High Point University where she worked primarily with the post players and helped develop the 2015 Big South Player of the Year. A two-time candidate for the prestigious Naismith Trophy, Harper was a finalist for the national player of the year honor in 2007. Inducted into the ACC Legends Class of 2014, Harper holds Maryland’s record for blocked shots with 198 in her career, and she ranks seventh all-time in rebounds (873) and field goal percentage (.565) and 18th in points (1,407). A two-time team captain, her No. 15 jersey hangs from the rafters at the Xfinity Center in College Park. Following her graduation, Harper was selected 10th overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft by the Sacramento Monarchs where she played for two seasons.
MEN’S GOLF
Cabrini junior Clay Anders (Souderton) posted a round of 76 to finish tied for fourth at the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic at Hershey Country Club on Monday.
Millersville redshirt senior Rodney Anders (Souderton) shot a 73 during the first round and entered the second round of the Cecil Spadafora Invitational on Monday tied for third. He shot a 79 on the second day but still finished tied for eight.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Freshman Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) had two goals and three assists in Princeton’s 12-9 win over Harvard on Saturday, giving him 70 points for the season and breaking the Ivy League record for points. The previous record was 67 set by Cornell’s Rob Pannell in 2009.
Chris Feming (Upper Moreland) had three goals, two assists, two caused turnovers and three ground balls in Misericordia’s 14-8 win at FDU-Florham on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 14-6 win over King’s, Fleming had three goals and three assists.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Sophomore MaryKate Keenan (Plymouth Whitemarsh) had two caused turnovers in Cabrini’s 17-2 win over Centenary on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 16-4 win at Notre Dave of Maryland, Keenan had two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Junior Allison Fugate (Pennridge) scored the game-winning goal as the final horn sounded to propel Shippensburg to an 8-7 road victory over Edinboro on Saturday. She also was credited with a career-high three assists. Sophomore Kyra Shank (Souderton) scored twice. In Tuesday’s 27-8 loss to No. 12 West Chester, Fugate scored twice while Shank added a goal.
Albright freshman Devon Mela (Council Rock North) was named MAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 16. The CR North graduate led the Lions to a 17-7 win over Hood with seven points on five goals, including the game-winner, and two assists. Mela also tallied four ground balls, four caused turnovers and three draw controls. She only took five shots in the game and had a hat trick with 12:03 left in the first half after scoring her first two goals of the game in just 38 seconds.
Mela scored four goals and also had an assist in Albright’s 14-6 win over Arcadia on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 23-11 loss to Stevenson, Mela had a pair of goals.
Makayla Bowman (North Penn) scored a goal in Kutztown’s 10-8 loss to No. 17 East Stroudsburg on Tuesday.
Keystone College junior Emily Hawkins (Cheltenham) was named to the Colonial States Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the week ending April 16. Hawkins tied a school record by scoring nine goals in Keystone’s 23-8 win at Rosemont. The junior midfielder tallied four times in the first half, including the game winner, before adding five more in the second half.
Alyssa Matthews (Pennsbury) scored four goals in Philadelphia University’s 18-13 win over Caldwell University on Saturday. In Thursday’s 25-2 win at Felician, Samantha Ryder (Pennridge) had three goals and Matthews had one. In Tuesday’s 15-9 win at Chestnut Hill, Ryder had a pair of goals.
Senior Lauren Green (North Penn) and junior Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) each had
one goal in No. 17 East Stroudsburg’s 13-6 win over Millersville on Thursday. Both were honored prior to the game for recording their 100th career points earlier this season. Green finished the afternoon with 130 points (91 goals, 39 assists) and Rahmer with 103 points (83 goals, 20 assists) after hitting the 100-point mark two days earlier. Thursday’s win extended ESU’s record winning streak to eight. In Tuesday’s 10-8 win over Kutztown, Rahmer scored three goals, and Green had two goals and an assist. Rahmer, who scored her 100th career point on her first goal of the game, also had four draw controls, four caused turnovers and five ground balls while extending her team lead in goals (35).
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Temple University's Kat McCoy (Neshaminy) was named one of the MVPs of the City Six spring tournament, this after coming back from torn ACLs in both knees. She also won a pair of awards from Temple for the 2016-17 season, including the coaches award.
SOFTBALL
Haley DeLany (Souderton) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in UMBC’s 7-1 loss to first-place Maine on Saturday. In Friday’s 4-1 loss to Maine, Nicole Casagrand (Hatboro-Horsham) threw three innings of relief, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out one.
Senior Julia Schoenewald (Central Bucks East) had two hits in Brown University’s 7-4 loss to Harvard on Saturday.
Valerie Sadowl (Hatboro-Horsham) had one of her team’s five hits off of six-time American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week Emily Watson in UConn’s 3-1 loss to Tulsa on Friday. In UConn’s 7-6 loss to Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday, Sadowl was 1-for-2 with an RBI. In Tuesday’s 7-1 win over UMass, Sadowl was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.
Senior Lauren Quense (Neshaminy) allowed just three hits while picking up her team-leading 17th win of the year in Fordham’s 8-3 win over George Washington on Saturday.
Freshman Spenser Gray (Quakertown) was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and two runs scored out of the leadoff spot in UNC Charlotte’s 9-1 win over Florida International on Saturday.
Susquehanna senior Lauren Creamer (Neshaminy) was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week for the week ending April 16. The Neshaminy grad had three home runs – including a grand slam – and nine RBIs in a doubleheader sweep of Juniata. Creamer drove in three runs in the opener an six in the nightcap. She finished the week with a .600 batting average (6-for-10) and a 1.500 slugging average (15 total bases). She also scored four runs and walked twice in the four weekend games.
La Salle University senior Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) was named the female Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the Annual Athletics Banquet held at Tom Gola Arena on Tuesday. A standout on the diamond all four years at La Salle, Bascara was named to the Atlantic 10’s All-Rookie Team as a freshman after leading the Explorers in hitting, something she also accomplished as a sophomore and junior. In 2015, she earned Second Team All-A-10 accolades, leading La Salle to a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. A biology major with a 3.68 GPA, she will graduate with her bachelor’s degree in May and will conclude her career ranked in La Salle’s Top 10 in home runs and runs scored.
Suzanne Swanicke (Pennsbury) smacked a two-run homer and added an RBI double to drive in the game-winning run in La Salle’s 4-3 win over Saint Louis on Sunday in game one of a doubleheader sweep. Jackie Heim (William Tennent) had an RBI single as part of a three-run fifth. In La Salle’s 7-5 win over Saint Louis in game two, Swanicke had a two-run double and a solo home run to finish the day with four hits and six RBIs. Heim also registered a pair of hits in the second game. Mackenzie Obert (Pennsbury) added an RBI single. In Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep of Drexel, Swanicke finished the day 6-for-6 with five RBIs while Obert and Bascara each had three hits. In La Salle’s 10-8 win in game one, Obert had a two-run home run, and in the Explorers’ 14-3 win in game two, Swanicke nailed a three-run home run. Angelina Refice (Central Bucks West) had an RBI single.
Emily Mayhew (Pennridge) was 2-for-3 with a run scored in Bloomsburg’s 5-3 loss to Mansfield in game one of a doubleheader split on Saturday. In Bloomsburg’s 2-0 win in the second game, Mayhew was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Leadoff hitter Sara Keeny (William Tennent) was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base in Kutztown’s 9-0 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Sunday. Freshman Angie Carty (Souderton) continued her strong play since entering the lineup with a 2-for-2 game, including a two-run single in the second. She also scored two runs, highlighted by her successfully stealing home on a double-steal attempt. Cheyenne Jones (Harry S Truman) also had a pair of hits. In KU’s 3-2 win in game two, Keeny went 2-for-4 with another stolen base. With the win, KU clinched a spot in the PSAC playoffs.
Senior outfielder Bridget Hunt (Harry S Truman) was 1-for-2 in Binghamton’s 5-0 win over Hartford on Sunday.
Widener freshman Jamie Gosselin (Abington) was named the Middle Atlantic Conference Player of the Week as well as the ECAC Player of the Week for the week ending April 16. The Abington graduate batted .600 in a doubleheader sweep of Albright, going 3-or-5 while also posting a .750 on-base percentage and slugging at a 1.400 clip. She finished the twinbill with five runs batted in, two runs scored, a double, a home run, two walks and two stolen bases. Gosselin went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and hit a walk-off grand slam to lead the Pride to a 6-4 win in the nightcap. It was also the first home run of her career.
Gosselin was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and Ally Horvath (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored in Widener’s 8-7 win over Alvernia on Wednesday.
Brooke Labs (Pennridge) was 1-for-3 with three RBIs in Marywood’s 7-4 win over Cedar Crest in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Friday. In Tuesday’s 9-1 win over Keystone College in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Labs had a pair of hits. In Marywood’s 12-6 win over Keystone in game two, Labs hit a three-run home run, her second homer of the year, and finished with four RBIs.
Koraima Dudley (Neshaminy) had a pair of triples and scored twice in Delaware Valley University’s 15-8 win over Saint Elizabeth in game two of a doubleheader sweep on Thursday.
Heather Lutz (Hatboro-Horsham) was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs in Millersville’s 4-3 loss to Shippensburg in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday. In Monday’s 7-6 win over Goldey-Beacom in game two of a twinbill sweep, Jaynie Black (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-2 with an RBI. In Millersville’s 5-0 win in game one, Lutz was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

Shippensburg freshman Meghan Klee (Quakertown) was named the PSAC Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 16 following a week in which she hit .500 with five RBIs. Klee totaled seven hits in 14 at-bats, including two doubles, over the course of four games as SU went 3-1 in doubleheaders against East Stroudsburg and PSAC East leader, Kutztown. Against ESU, Klee was 5-for-8 with two doubles and a team-high five RBI. She then added two more hits at Kutztown, raising her season average to .310, good for third best on SU. Klee has eight multi-high games this season and four multi-RBI games as the SU starting shortstop.
Junior Maddie Mulhall (Quakertown) had a two-run double in Shippensburg’s 4-3 win over Millersville in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. In the Raiders 5-0 win in game two, Klee had a two-run double.

In the Nittany Lions’ 9-6 loss in game two, Becca Dougherty (Council Rock South) was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and three RBIs, and Brasier was 1-for-3. In Thursday’s 3-2 win over Lancaster Bible in game one of a doubleheader sweep, Emily Wrenn (Hatboro-Horsham) allowed two earned runs while striking out eight and walking none in the complete game win. Dougherty was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored while Brasier was 2-for-3 with a run scored. In the Nittany Lions’ 14-0 win in game one, Dougherty earned the win, allowing five hits while striking out six and walking none in five innings. Dougherty also was 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, four RBIs and run scored while Brasier was 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and run scored.

Elizabethtown’s Mitch Schlegel (Souderton) won his section of the 200m dash and ended up seventh overall with a time of 22.69 at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.
David Bryant (Upper Dublin) was part of Saint Joseph’s 4x100m relay that placed seventh in 42.85 at the unscored Larry Ellis Invitational held at Princeton University on Saturday.
La Salle’s Chris Trimble (North Penn) clocked a time of 2:00.04 in the 800m to place 29th at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton this weekend.
Ursinus freshman Brody Johnson (Central Bucks West) had a season low time of 23.76 in the 200m dash at the Widener Invitational on Saturday. On Friday, freshman Daniel Powell (Central Bucks East) clocked a 34:22.77 in the 10K, good for 13th in the event and seventh in the CC.
Pitt senior Chris Spadaro (Council Rock South) placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 15.06m at the Virginia Challenge on Friday. He finished second with personal record of 7.36m in the long jump.
Widener sophomore Sean Stovall (Springfield) posted a time of 57.17 in the 400m hurdles to finish fourth at the Widener Invitational on Saturday. Freshman Sean Mazlin (Council Rock North) was on the 4×100 relay team that crossed the line in 43.15 to finish fourth.
Kutztown’s Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield) ran the seventh fastest time in program history to win the 400m and was part of both the 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams that won on the second day of the Widener Invitational on Saturday. Johnson’s time of 48.26, an existing PSAC mark, was the fastest time in the program since 2011. He beat out the second place competitor in the field of 79 runners by .08 seconds. The 4×100 relay’s winning time was 42.03, beating 14 other teams and crossing the finish line .66 seconds ahead of Rider. The 4×400 relay won in a time of 3:20.16, besting 18 other teams and finishing ahead of second place TCNJ by .72 seconds. Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) was also part of both winning relays and finished second in both the 110 meter hurdles (15.25) and 400m hurdles (56.79), both in PSAC existing times. Ogi Ogbonna (Harry S Truman) finished eighth in the 110m hurdles with a PSAC existing time of 15.80. Ryan Benner (Pennridge) posted a career best time of 11.32 in the 100m dash.
Bloomsburg junior Alex Moran (Pennridge) placed eighth in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.07 at the All-American Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg on Saturday. Senior James Wilson (Central Bucks South) was sixth in the 800m run with a time of 1:58.48. Freshman Matthew Hart (Pennsbury) placed 10th overall in the hammer throw (40.96 meters) and was 13th in the javelin (45.70 meters).

Ursinus senior Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) placed ninth overall in the 200m dash (26.63) and 19th in the 100m dash with a time of 13.11, less than a tenth of a second off her season best, at the Widener Invitational on Saturday. Sophomore Riley Engel (Council Rock North) posted a 2:33.93 in the 800, a new season low.
Temple’s Sydnee Jacques (North Penn) finished seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.50 at the 2017 Morgan State Legacy Invitational on Saturday. Megan Schneider (Hatboro-Horsham) posted a time of 18:36.33 in the 5K to finish in fifth place.
La Salle’s Kaitlin Poiesz (Central Bucks South) crossed the finish line in 4:43.21 in the 1500m event to finish 14th overall at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton this weekend.
Jasmine Noble (Central Bucks South) andEmily Magnant (Hatboro-Horsham) were part of West Chester’s 4x100m relay team that finished first with a time of 48.12 at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.
Kutztown’s Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) finished second in the 5000m with a new PSAC time of 18:04.31 at the Widener Invitational. Olivia Morano (Quakertown) finished second in the discus with a new PSAC distance of 36.93m, and she was 14th in the shot put with a season-best 10.45m.
Moravian College senior Lauren Suelke (Quakertown) finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 4.67 meters (15-4) and placed third in the triple jump at 9.75 meters (32-0) at the Misericordia University Invitational on Saturday.
Shippensburg junior Lindsay Sheehan (Pennridge) posted a PSAC qualifying time of 12.48 in the 100m to finish fifth at the Third Annual S.U. Invitational on Saturday. She also was part of the first place 4×100 relay (48.89). Sophia Carabba (Abington) was third in the 400 with a time of 1:01.54, and Dior Alston (Cheltenham) finished third in the 800 with a PSAC qualifying time of 2:22.92. Alston was part of the first place 4×400 relay that posted a time of 4:03.82. Maria Antoni (Upper Moreland) finished eighth with a time of 2:32.41. In the 1500, Antoni was third (5:06.42), Lindsey Gerlach (Central Bucks West) was fifth (5:16.86) and Abbie Todd (Council Rock North) was sixth (5:18.35). Jordan Higgins (Hatboro-Horsham) finished first in the 400 hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:05.91 and was part of the third place 4×400 relay (4:15.03).
Allison Gallagher (Souderton) was part of Widener’s 4×400 relay that posted a time of 4:05.81 to finish third overall and first among NCAA Division III institutions at the Widener Invitational on Saturday.
Bloomsburg senior Jessica Quesenberry (Wissahickon) placed second overall with a PSAC qualifying time of 18:04.04 in the 5000m run at the All-American Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg on Saturday.
East Stroudsburg sophomore Leiana Dean (North Penn) was part of the winning 4x100m relay that posted a time of 48.55. Freshman Barbara Grossov (Quakertown) was another new PSAC qualifier, placing sixth in the shot put (37-4 ½).
MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Daniel Ford (Council Rock North) dished out 27 assists to go along with four digs in second-seeded Saint Francis University’s 3-1 loss to top-seeded Penn State in the EIVA Championship match on Saturday night. In Thursday’s 3-1 win over Sacred Heart, Ford dished out a match-high 39 assists to go along with six blocks and two service aces.
