BASEBALL
Kevin Barron (Hatboro-Horsham) had a pair of hits in Campbell’s 7-5 loss to Winthrop in the opening game of the Big South Conference baseball series on Friday.
Joe Molettiere (Pennridge) fired three shutout innings in Monmouth’s 9-2 loss to Fairfield last Sunday in the MAAC series finals.
DeSales University senior Mike Kacergis (Pennridge) earned second team MAC Freedom All-Conference honors. It is the third time he has earned all-conference recognition after being named first team in 2015 and second team last year. He is batting .313 with an on-base percentage of .500 and has set a new single-season record with 36 walks this season. Kacergis has started 33-of-40 games behind the dish and made zero errors and has had three pickoffs defensively.
Kacergis had three hits in DeSales University’s 8-4 win over Manhattanville College in the opening game of the MAC Freedom Baseball Tournament on Friday.
Sophomore Nick Ponente (Council Rock South) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored and junior Connor Laigaie (Council Rock South) picked up his second save of the season by throwing four shutout innings with a pair of strikeouts in Arcadia’s 8-4 win over top-seeded Alvernia last Sunday to capture the program’s first MAC Commonwealth Championship.
Senior Cory Capaldi (Souderton) was 1-for-2 with an RBI in fourth-seeded Pace University’s 14-1 loss to second-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the opening game of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship on Thursday. In Tuesday’s 5-2 opening round upset of top-seeded Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU), Capaldi was 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Colton Hooker (Upper Moreland) had a two-run single in Northampton’s 8-0 win over Luzerne County Community College on Sunday in a postseason contest. The nationally-ranked Spartans improved to 31-5 overall and will face Luzerne again on Monday in the second game of their best of three series with game time set for noon. In last Monday’s 11-2 win over Lehigh Carbon Community College, Hooker hit a three-run home run. It was his seventh round tripper of the season and 16th of his career, putting him one behind Northampton assistant coach Mike Tenaglia for the all-time Northampton record. Zach Conley (Pennsbury) saw work on the mound.
Delaware Valley University senior center fielder Kyle Wenger (Souderton) was selected to the All-Middle
Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom first team for the third time. It was his fourth overall all-conference pick. Wenger, the 2015 MAC Freedom Player of the Year and the 2014 Rookie of the Year, wrapped up one of the top careers in Aggie baseball history. He finished as DelVal’s all-time leader with a career batting average of .448 (185 hits in 413 at-bats). He was also the career leader in triples (16), third in hits (185), third in stolen bases (63), fourth in doubles (37), fourth in runs scored (127), tied for seventh in home runs (13) and eighth in RBIs (101). In 2017, Wenger bounced back from an injury that limited him to 20 games the season before (the lone season he was not a first team pick but was named to the second team). He batted .431 with a .651 slugging percentage and a .515 on-base percentage. He racked up 47 hits, including 10 doubles, four triples and two home runs. Wenger scored 37 runs and drove in 21 while also stealing 14 bases and committing just two errors in 100 attempts. He had 15 multiple hit games and scored two or more runs in 14 of the 33 contests.
Trey Guaglionona (Abington) was 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two runs scored in Penn State Abington’s 5-4 win over Keuka College in the opening round of the 2017 NEAC Tournament on Thursday. In Monday’s 7-5 Senior Day win over Penn State Berks in game one of a twinbill split, Guaglionona was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, and Matt Meyers (Cheltenham) was 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Anthony Rigous (Council Rock North) was 2-for-4 with a run scored in IUP’s 5-4 loss to West Chester on Wednesday in an elimination game of the 2017 PSAC Championships. In IUP’s 8-5 loss to Lock Haven earlier in the day, Rigous was 2-for-4.
Ursinus College sophomore shortstop Carter Usowski (Central Bucks East) earned All-Centennial Conference honorable mention recognition. The CB East graduate rode a scorching start to lead the Bears in RBIs (33) and hits (53) while batting .351. He scored 28 runs and had 14 doubles to tie for fourth in school history. His best performance came in a 16-2 rout of Gettysburg when he finished 4-for-5 with a career-high five RBIs and three runs scored. He went 3-for-6 with three RBIs in the win at Washington College that put the Bears in the postseason. Through his first two seasons, Usowski is a career .347 hitter.
Casey O’Donnell (Hatboro-Horsham) threw 3.1 innings in relief, fanning five, to record the victory in Philadelphia University’s 5-4 win in 11 innings over Felician last Sunday. He also recorded a hit in his first collegiate at-bat in the 11th inning.
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Dave Tatoian (Pennridge) was named to the 2017 All-CSAC first team for the
second consecutive year. The Pennridge graduate, who played and started every game, is ranked in the top 10 in the CSAC in several categories. He is first in RBIs (55), home runs (9), second in slugging percentage (.699), tied for second in doubles (13), third in hits (56) and tied for seventh in runs scored (37) while batting .392. He has 15 multi-hit and 13 multi-RBI games, along with a 12-game hitting streak, all tops on the squad.
Tatoian was named to the CSAC Honor Roll for the week ending May 7. The Pennridge graduate batted 6-for-11 (.545) during the Marywood series, driving in nine runs. He also recorded his 100th hit earlier in the week against Arcadia. In four games, he batted .438 with nine RBIs, two walks, a grand slam and a stolen base.
Gwynedd Mercy sophomore Nick Mulvey (Bensalem) was named to the 2017 All-CSAC first team. The Bensalem graduate started 32 of 37 games and earned his first all-conference honor. He is second on the team in batting (.368), extra-base hits (15) and runs (32). He has 21 RBIs, eight stolen bases, 10 doubles, three triples and a pair of homers.
Gwynedd Mercy junior Shaughn Wright (Pennsbury) was received 2017 All-CSAC honorable mention recognition. The Pennsbury graduate started 34 games and is batting .339 with 25 runs, 16 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
Nick Mulvey had a double, home run and RBI in Gwynedd Mercy’s 20-7 loss to Immaculata on Friday in an elimination game in the 2017 CSAC Tournament. In Wednesday’s 12-5 loss to Keystone in an opening round game, Jason Mulvey (Bensalem) and Tatoian both had a pair of hits. Mulvey had a pair of RBIs while Tatoian had a double. In last Sunday’s 8-2 win in the nightcap of a twinbill split, Tatoian was 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run, and Nick Mulvey was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored.
Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) from the class of 2015 was named to the Landmark Conference All-Decade Team. The all-decade team was chosen to help celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the Landmark Conference and was selected by the membership. Hanson was a three-time first team selection for the Greyhounds in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He was named the Landmark Player of the Year in 2014 and finished his career with 210 hits, 116 RBIs, 39 doubles, 11 triples and a career batting average of .374.
Senior Greg McDonough (Wissahickon) contributed an RBI single in Widener’s 8-4 season-ending loss to Ramapo College in postseason action on Wednesday. In last Sunday’s 8-5 loss to Alvernia in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament, McDonough tripled and scored.
Senior Austin DiBonaventure (Plymouth Whitemarsh) earned the win in relief in Chestnut Hill’s 4-3 win over Dominican College in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship on Saturday. The PW graduate did not allow a hit in two shutout innings, fanning one and walking one. Brandon DiBona (William Tennent) was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Dominican College came back to earn a 12-1 win to capture the league crown. In Thursday’s 13-3 opening round win over Philadelphia University, Patrick Kelley (Central Bucks West) earned his second postseason victory in two starts, allowing four hits and one run in six innings. He struck out five and walked two. DiBona was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs, and DiBonaventure was 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored.
Jared Melone (North Penn) had two hits, including a double, with an RBI and two runs scored and Robert Knox (North Penn) contributed a double, RBI and run scored in No. 14 West Chester’s 18-4 win over No. 1 Mercyhurst at the 2017 PSAC Tournament on Saturday. Mercyhurst came back to defeat West Chester 14-12 in an elimination game that saw both Knox and Melone hit home runs. In Friday’s 11-0 win over Lock Haven in an elimination game, Melone went 3-for-4 with a double, two triples, two RBIs and three runs. In West Chester’s 5-4 win over IUP in an elimination game on Thursday, Melone went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, including his sixth home run of the season in the fifth inning. Right-hander Jon Fisher (Plymouth Whitemarsh) picked up the win on the mound, allowing three runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out nine.
Mike Christy (North Penn) was 3-for-5 with an RBI and run scored and Nick Bein (Abington) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in Elizabethtown’s 6-2 win over Susquehanna to capture the program’s first Landmark championship. With the win, Elizabethtown has secured a spot in the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2009. In Saturday’s 8-7 win over Catholic, Christy was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. In Saturday’s 14-6 win over Susquehanna, Bein had three RBIs and scored a run.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Kutztown senior Ryan Connolly (Souderton) received the Coaches Award for men’s basketball. An All-PSAC second team selection for the second consecutive season, he set the school record with 77 three-pointers. The 2017 KU Male Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year ends his career as the program’s all-time leader in three-pointers, having made 229 for his career. As a business administration major, he holds a 3.64 GPA, is a five-time Dean’s List honoree, four-time PSAC Scholar Athlete and three-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner.
WOMEN’S BOWLING
Kutztown senior Allison Seibert (Bensalem) earned the Coaches Award for bowling. Seibert ended her career starting in 12 of her 20 appearances in her senior season, recording a 14.7 frame average and a 153.1 traditional average. She is the lone senior on this year’s team.
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Moravian senior Sarah Hughes (Souderton) received the Blue & Grey Scholar Athlete award at the annual Senior Athletics Awards Banquet on Wednesday. Hughes had an outstanding senior year on the cross country course. She broke the 22-minute mark twice this past season, including a career-best 21:48 at the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble in Ohio on Oct. 15, and she went on to compete at the 2016 NCAA Division III National Championships. Hughes ran 21:51 to finish second in the Landmark Conference race to earn a spot on the Landmark All-Conference first team. She had a time of 22:03 in the Paul Short Run and owns three of the top 20 fastest times in school history and ran all three this fall. Hughes earned All-Mideast Region honors with an 11th place finish in 22:01, and she was also honored on the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Team. Hughes, who did not compete on the track team this year due to an injury, has been named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll seven times in her career. She has a 3.89 GPA and is majoring in law and society at Moravian.
Kutztown sophomore Stephanie Bresadola (North Penn) was named MVP for the women’s cross country team. The North Penn graduate was named All-Region and All-PSAC First Team in the fall. She followed up her 11th place showing at the PSAC Championships by crossing 19th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional. She placed in the top 20 of all six events that she competed in, including a sixth place finish at Slippery Rock’s Mack Cooper Invitational.
MEN’S GOLF
Millersville senior Rodney Anders (Souderton) shot a 79, 75 and 76 during the three rounds at the Super Regional on Wednesday. His consistency on the third day allowed him to move up eight spots to finish tied for 35th.
MEN’S LACROSSE
Chris Fleming (Upper Moreland) had an assist in Misericordia’s 24-3 loss to No. 1 Salisbury in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Wednesday. Misericordia won a record 13 games this season, winning its first ever MAC Freedom championship and making its first NCAA tournament appearance. In Tuesday’s 9-7 win over Lasell College in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, Fleming led the way with two goals and two assists.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Temple senior Brenda McDermott (North Penn) earned IWLCA All-Region second team honors. The all-region
honor is the first for McDermott, who was recently named to the All-BIG EAST first team for a second year in a row along with earning her first BIG EAST All-Tournament team award. McDermott led Temple in both goals (42) and assists (32) for 74 total points. Her 32 assists rank second all-time in a single season in program history while her 54 career assists rank ninth all-time. McDermott was named BIG EAST Attacker of the Week on Feb. 14 after a season-opening win at Rutgers, and she recorded eight hat tricks, including six straight from March 25 to April 15. McDermott tallied six assists in an 18-16 win vs. Monmouth on Feb. 15, ranking as the second most in a single game in program history. She tied her career high with five goals in the final game of the season against #2 Florida in the BIG EAST Tournament semifinals. After overcoming years of injuries to become a standout for the Owls, McDermott was named Temple’s NovaCare Comeback Student-Athlete of the Year at the annual Celebration of Champions on April 30.
Allison Hawkins (Cheltenham) is the senior captain for the University of Pittsburgh women’s club lacrosse team that travelled to Salt Lake City, Utah, for the WCLA D1 National Championship this weekend. Top-seeded Pitt won its first three games before falling to No. 7 Delaware in the finals. In Pitt’s 20-4 win over Western Washington, Hawkins scored a goal. She also had a goal in Pitt’s 11-5 win over Brigham Young University and contributed a goal and an assist in Pitt’s 8-7 win over the University of Georgia in the semifinals. In Pitt’s 13-11 loss to the University of Delaware in the finals, Hawkins scored two goals. She closed out her Pitt career with 108 goals and 39 assists (147 points).
East Stroudsburg junior midfielder Chessie Rahmer (Souderton) was named to the IWLCA All-South Region
first team team. She finished the season with 50 goals and 10 assists, leading the Warriors in goals and points (60). She was second on the team in caused turnovers (35), ground balls (55) and draw controls (56). She scored at least three goals in nine of ESU’s 19 games, including five in a 16-10 win versus then-No. 10 Mercyhurst on April 15. She was the PSAC Athlete of the Week for the final week of the regular season with four goals and one assist in both games that week – a 17-12 win at West Chester and a 16-8 win vs. IUP.
Rahmer had two goals in East Stroudsburg’s season-ending 17-10 loss to Florida Tech in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament hosted by Florida Southern College on Friday. The loss was the first since late March and brought an end to ESU’s 12-game winning streak. For senior Lauren Green (North Penn), the game marked the end of a successful career. Green made 61 starts and had 142 career points on 94 goals and 48 assists (ninth in school history). She had 59 points on 25 goals and 34 assists this season with her assist total ranking third in the single-season record book.
SOFTBALL
Fordham senior Lauren Quense (Neshaminy) was named Atlantic 10 Co-Pitcher of the Year. A second team
selection a year ago, Quense led the Atlantic 10 with 20 wins, becoming the fifth Ram to ever reach the milestone. She won six Pitcher of the Week awards throughout the season. The senior began her campaign with a 1-0 shutout of then-ranked #21 Baylor and also picked up wins over top 50 programs Tulsa, Northwestern and Saint Francis (Pa.). The Neshaminy graduate also became the fifth Ram to throw a no-hitter in program history, blanking Bryant over five innings on Feb. 17. Quense won all six starts to begin the season and entered league play with a 13-3 record. She leads the conference in wins (20), appearances (340 and starts (32), is second in innings pitched (182.2) and third with a 2.07 ERA. “Q has been a Warrior all year, and I loved seeing her get after it this year,” coach Bridget Orchard said. “She has been a great role model for the freshmen and they all help each other. Her energy and positive attitude is contagious. I’m very excited and proud of her for this award, it is so well deserved.”
Quense was named the Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 7. It was her sixth Pitcher of the Week honor this season. The senior hurler picked up win number 20 over La Salle, tossing seven full frames and allowing just three hits and two runs (on two solo home runs). She walked one and struck out five. The Rams clinched their fifth ever A-10 regular season championship.
Quense earned her 22nd win of the season in Fordham’s 6-2 win over Massachusetts in an Atlantic 10 Tournament game on Saturday. It was her 16th complete game. In Thursday’s 10-2 quarterfinal win over Saint Louis, Quense picked up the win. She did not allow a hit over the first four frames. She allowed just six hits in the abbreviated six inning game, walking four and striking out three.
Villanova junior Nikki Alden (William Tennent) was named to the All-BIG EAST first team. Alden hit .390 on the year while playing first base. She also contributed 41 RBIs, 28 runs, nine home runs, six doubles and three triples. She led the BIG EAST in batting average, and she also ranked third in the conference in RBIs and slugging percentage (.667). While she has been outstanding offensively, Alden has also had a great season in the infield. She has a .996 fielding percentage and has only committed one error in 50 games.
Freshman Spenser Gray (Quakertown) was 1-for-2 with a run scored in UNC Charlotte’s season-ending 11-1 loss to Delta State in the 2017 Conference USA Tournament on Wednesday. Gray started all 53 of UNC Charlotte’s game, finishing the season with a .313 batting average (50-of-164) with 24 runs scored. She had a team-high 21 stolen bases. In UNC Charlotte’s 4-2 win over North Texas earlier in the day, Gray was 1-for-3 with a run scored out of the leadoff spot. In last Sunday’s 3-2 win over Middle Tennessee, Gray was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
La Salle seniors Christina Bascara (Pennsbury) and Suzanne Swanicke (Pennsbury) were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic team. Bascara holds a 3.68 GPA as a biology major and was named he 2017 La Salle Female Scholar-Athlete at last month’s Annual Athletic Banquet. A four-year starter at third base, Bascara led the Explorers in hitting in three of her four seasons and will graduate with a .318 career average. Bascara also led the team with 10 doubles this season.
Swanicke, another four-year starter for the Explorers, holds a 3.66 GPA as an accounting major. The Pennsbury graduate led the team in batting average (.318), RBIs (31), extra-base hits (15) and slugging percentage (.555) this season. Swanicke also garnered an A-10 Player of the Week nod on April 24 after helping the Explorers to a 4-1 week that included a series win at Saint Louis.
Widener senior Ally Horvath (Central Bucks South) was named to the NCAA Division III Regional All-Tournament Team. Horvath was the winning pitcher in Widener’s 2-1 win over Messiah while batting .308 and stealing three bases in as many attempts. The win over Messiah was Horvath’s third postseason win. She allowed four hits and one run while striking out three and improving her record to 11-3. Widener saw its season come to an end in the NCAA Regional Tournament in Cortland, N.Y., on Sunday when the Pride fell to SUNY Cortland 10-2 and 7-2 in a winner-take-all game. Widener (28-13) completed its most historic season in school history by winning its first Middle Atlantic Commonwealth Conference title and making its first ever appearance in the NCAA Regionals. In Widener’s 3-0 win over SUNY Cortland, Horvath reached base on a bunt single and scored.
Lock Haven senior Michelle Holweger (North Penn) was named to the 2017 All-PSAC Central team. A two-time all-conference pick, Holweger hit .309 with 12 doubles, four home runs and 29 RBIs. She closed the year with a .485 slugging percentage.
Bridget Casey (Pennridge) contributed an RBI single in Bloomsburg’s 5-3 loss to Charleston in an NCAA Atlantic Regional elimination game on Friday.
Sophomore Jackie Bilotti (North Penn) was 4-for-4 from the leadoff spot with a double, triple, three RBIs and two runs scored in top-seeded Arcadia University’s 11-3 win over second-seeded Stockton Sunday to win its second straight Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship. Arcadia closed its 2017 campaign with an overall record of 30-13, marking the program’s fourth 30-win season and its first 30-win year since 2007. In Sunday’s 2-1 semifinal win over New York University, Bilotti was 2-for-4 with a triple.
Bilotti was among eight Arcadia University spring sport student-athletes named to the 2017 Middle Atlantic Conference Spring Sportsmanship team. The MAC Sportsmanship Teams recognize student-athletes who exemplify great character and demonstrate the act of sportsmanship both on and off the field. These student-athletes were selected by the head coaches of their respective teams. They represent their team, institution and the conference with high integrity and exhibit respect for themselves, teammates, coaches and opponents.
Binghamton senior outfielder Bridget Hunt (Harry S Truman) was named to the American East All-Conference second team. It marked her first all-conference appearance. Hunt, who started all 45 of the Bearcats’ games, closed out the year batting .301 and led the America East with six triples. She reached base in a team-best 18 consecutive games. For the season, Hunt had nine multiple hit games and three multiple RBI performances.
Hunt went 3-for-6 (.500), drew three walks and drove in three runs in the American East Tournament where the Bearcats finished third.
Kutztown sophomore Sara Keeny (William Tennent) was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region second team and also earned All-PSAC Eastern Division honors. A sophomore outfielder, Keeny has earned All-Region and All-PSAC honors in each of her two years at KU. She matched her batting average from last season at .403 – seventh in the PSAC – and has scored 40 runs off 62 hits with 11 RBIs. She gets on base at a .465 clip and has stolen 35 bases – which ranks fifth in school history and is five more than last year. Keeny has used her speed to get on base as 18 of her 62 hits (29 percent) have been bunts. She started all 45 games this year and all 95 for her career. Keeny has 65 stolen bases as a sophomore, fifth in school history, while her .403 career average ranks third best at KU.

Millersville senior Heather Lutz (Hatboro-Horsham) earned an All-PSAC East At-Large bid. It was her second consecutive All-PSAC East selection. The senior left fielder hit .299 with a team-high 16 doubles. Lutz ranks in the top 10 at Millersville in career at-bats, runs scored, hits, runs batted in, doubles, fielding percentage, walks and slugging percentage. Lutz is the doubles queen at Millersville, totaling 53 and shattering the previous Marauder record of 42. Lutz also ranks in the top 10 in the conference in on-base percentage, runs scored and doubles. She led the PSAC with 26 walks. In 2016, Lutz was named All-PSAC East after hitting .340 with 48 hits while leading the team in walks (22) and on-base percentage (.460).
WOMEN’S TENNIS
Kutztown senior Kady Wuagon (Neshaminy) received the Coaches Award for tennis. The Neshaminy graduate won two matches in her final season, including closing her career with a three-set triumph over Philly U on Senior Day. In the classroom, Wuagon is a five-time Dean’s List honoree and has also been named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete and a D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner.
MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Elizabethtown junior Mitch Schlegel (Souderton) won a pair of silvers in the 400m and 200m at the 2017 Landmark Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Schlegel set a new personal record and improved his second place standing on the all-time list in the 400m with a 48.72. In the 200m, he ran 22.74 for second after entering the final with the second fastest time in the trials.
Freshman David Bryant (Upper Dublin) was part of Saint Joseph’s fifth place 4×100 relay team that posted a time of 42.86 at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships last Sunday.
Gwynedd Mercy rookie Joe McCoy (Neshaminy) was the champion in the long jump with a top mark of 6.45 meters at the 2017 CSAC Championships last Sunday. As a result of his performance, he received first team All-CSAC honors in long jump and earned second team recognition in triple jump.
Kutztown junior Brandon Raguz (Central Bucks South) improved his chances of qualifying for the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as he moved from 20th to 16th on the Division II performance list in pole vault at the Georgian Court University Last Chance Meet on Friday. At 16th, Raguz is KU’s highest-ranked student-athlete on the Division II performance list. He will wait to hear on a potential NCAA Championship berth. Raguz set an existing NCAA provisional with his second consecutive career-best height, 5.01m (16-05.25) to easily beat out a field of seven. Sitting at eighth in Kutztown’s record books less than a week ago, he improved to sixth all-time at the PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and then moved all the way up to fourth on Friday. Also on the Division II performance list is the school record-setting 4×100 relay team that includes Anthony Bullaro (Pennsbury) and Jhaloni Johnson (Springfield). The team is 35th. The relay team ran the second fastest time in school history on Friday, posting a time of 41.60 to finish second out of six teams at the Allegheny Gator Invite.
Lock Haven’s Lamier Dodson (Bensalem) placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 160-05 at the Gator Invitational hosted by Allegheny College on Thursday. Julien Freeman (Harry S Truman) jumped 45-03.5 in the triple jump to place fifth overall.
At Lock Haven’s annual awards presentations, Freeman received the Jumper/Hurdler Award, and Dodson was the recipient of the Mid-Distance Award. Jack Felt (Council Rock North) was the male recipient of the Haven Pride Award.
WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Brianna Stratz (Central Bucks South) and Amber Stratz (Central Bucks South) were part of Monmouth’s winning 4x800m relay team that posted a time of 9:05.40 at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships last Sunday. Brianna Stratz finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.19. Monmouth captured its fourth consecutive team title.
Duquesne sophomore Shannon Taub (Council Rock South) earned silver in the high jump at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championships last Sunday. Duquesne finished second in the team standings.
Senior Erin Farrell (Neshaminy) was part of the Ursinus College 4x400m relay that earned a silver medal for navigating the track in 4:02.36, the fastest time for the program in five years. It was the eighth conference relay medal for Farrell, who also gained 10 points for Ursinus in a pair of sprints. She took fourth place in the 100m dash with a time of 12.59. Farrell, who was looking to become just the third three-time outdoor championship in the 200, turned in another fourth place effort at 26.00 seconds even.
Moravian senior Lauren Suelke (Quakertown) earned Landmark All-Conference second team honors in the triple jump after finishing second in the event with a jump of 10.30 meters (33-9.5) at the 2017 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship last Sunday.
Moravian junior Casie Cronk (Quakertown) finished third in the high jump with a jump of 1.47 meters (4-9.75) at the 2017 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship last Sunday.
La Salle’s Kaitlin Poiesz (Central Bucks South) finished 13th out of 35 runners in the 5000m run with a time of 17:31.51 at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championship last Sunday.
East Stroudsburg senior Kelley Anne Stuetz (Cheltenham) competed in her final collegiate meet at Friday’s Last Chance Meet at Georgian Court. Stuetz took part in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in 1:08.81, and she registered a top clearance of 5-1 while competing in the high jump for the first time this spring.
