COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 9, PENNSBURY 6
The Golden Hawks rallied from a 4-0 third-quarter deficit to win their SOL National opener on Monday and record their third win in four starts.
“We had to regroup,” said South coach Mike Murray. We came back to score the next six goals.”
Phillip Mignacca and Brandon Follis scored three times each for the Golden Hawks. Austin Gambino, Brendan Gambino, and Daniel Scannapieco added one goal each.
Danny Schlupp made 13 saves in goal.
Nick Sutton scored three goals for the Falcons, who lost for the first time in five starts. Ben Abraham added two and Luke Vando one. Vando also contributed an assist and seven ground balls. Cole Ruoff also picked up an assist. Nate Racagno collected six ground balls, Bryce Raniello four, Avery Dysart, Charlie Nuschke and Jesse Keaton three each. Jake Krefetz was 9-for-16 on face-offs in addition to collecting four ground balls. Tim Davis stopped six shots in goal for the Falcons.
Council Rock South (3-1, 1-0 SOL) will travel to Archbishop Ryan on Monday for a non-league contest. Pennsbury (4-1, 0-1) will travel to Souderton on Tuesday for a 6:30 p.m. contest.

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 13, ABINGTON 5
Peter Lehman scored four goals and added four assists as the Indians prevailed in Monday’s non-league matchup. Luke Waltrum, a freshman, added three goals and an assist, and Freddie Germana had two goals and an assist. Beckett Thompson scored once and provided two assists, while Patrick Higgins, Brenden McLaughlin, and Ian Waitkus scored single goals.
Waltrum scooped up seven ground balls, Germana four, Dan Guest three, and Andrew Tate two. Waitkus, Lehman, Will Higgins, Sean Beverly, Max Harar, Peter Routh, and Nathan Lewis picked up one ground ball each.
Monday’s win capped a grueling stretch of five games in seven days for the Indians, who were 4-1 in that span.
“We had to go deep into my bench on defense,” said winning coach John Fitzpatrick. “We had lots of JV call-ups on defense that came through – it’s the next guy up. Luke Waltrum turned the game around on his face-offs. I’m really proud of them.”
Council Rock North (5-2, 0-1 SOL) will host Pennsbury on Tuesday, and Abington (2-3) will be on the road at Harry S Truman on Wednesday.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 9, HOLY GHOST PREP 8
Down 3-0 after one quarter and 7-5 at the start of the fourth, the host Titans rallied for the non-league win on Monday. Jake Reilly scored what proved to be the winning goal with 2:40 left in regulation.
“We got off to a slow start like we usually do,” said South coach Mike Stayline. “We crawled back in. We actually played really well in the third quarter, then came alive in the fourth.”
The Titans (2-2) got three goals each from Dante Poli and Austin Novick. Joe DeLaurentis and Colin Abbonizio also scored goals. Poli added three assists.
Matt Stoll collected four ground balls, Angus Ballentine and Tyler Horvath grabbed three each, Poli and Matt McDonald two each, Reilly, Evan Quinn, Connor Falkowski, Dylan McCrory, and Bobby Sautner one each. McCrory forced 2 turnovers, with Stoll, McDonald and Christian Manibo one each. Horvath was six-for 15 on faceoffs and Stoll two-for-four.
Sautner made 13 saves in goal, nine in the second half.
Central Bucks South (3-1, 1-0 SOL) will host Hatboro-Horsham on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP 14, NEW HOPE-SOLEBURY 0
Paul Richardson scored four goals to lead the Spartans over the Lions on Monday. Nic Pugliese added three goals, Zack Coppol, Wilson Krewson, and Trey DuBose one each. Teddy Saunders scored a single goal as the Spartans improved to 3-2.
Springfield Township will host Pope John Paul II on Wednesday.
UNIONVILLE 9, PENNRIDGE 8
The Rams came up just short in Monday’s non-league encounter. Nick Fanelli scored four goals in the loss. Ryan Garner added three goals and an assist, Matt Nevells scored a goal while Jack Garner added an assist. Austin Swartley had nine saves in goal.
Pennridge (4-1) will travel to Central Bucks West for a 7 p.m. contest on Wednesday.
UPPER DUBLIN 9, EPISCOPAL 5
Max Winebrake scored four goals and added an assist as the host Flying Cardinals downed the Churchmen on Monday in the non-league affair. Luke Roselli scored three goals, Jerry Bardol and Brian McCarry one each. Bardol added two assists and Nick Sowers and Colin Asper chipped in one each asUpper Dublin improved to 6-0 on the season.
Dillon Lojeski turned away 17 shots in a strong outing in goal. Roselli won 7-of-17 face-offs.
Sowers led the Cardinals defense with five ground balls and one caused turnover. Anthony Cerminara and Roselli each had three ground balls. Scooping up two ground balls each were Cary Romig and Colin Asper. Jake DiMartile had one ground ball and one caused turnover.
“We have no superstars or Division On players,” said Upper Dublin coach Dave Sowers, “but they play hard. It’s fun to see.”
Upper Dublin will be on the road at Hatboro-Horsham on Friday.
