Check out the recaps for SOL boys’ basketball teams in action Tuesday.

Non-league
Council Rock North 55, Lower Moreland 49
CR North opened its season Tuesday night and pulled out an emotional 55-49 over visiting Lower Moreland.
“The guys were confident going in,” said assistant coach Tyler Sessa-Reeves, who is filling in for coach Jesse Krasna, who is away from the team following the recent tragic passing of his wife. “For most of our guys – they were playing their first varsity minutes. That alone sometimes can affect the way that you play. You could tell some of the guys were feeling it.”
The two most experienced Indians’ players took control early. Senior Adam Mahtat scored eight in the first quarter, Jack Blum had eight in the second quarter, and by halftime, CR North led 26-18.
“Really, Jack and Adam were the only guys returning that played a lot last year,” Sessa-Reeves said. “Those guys rely on them heavily as leaders, not just scoring. But they’re getting more confident as they play more and more. I’m confident they will and we will be more successful as the season goes on.”
Lower Moreland didn’t go away and scored 21 points in the fourth quarter, but the Indians were able to put the game away.
“It was a grind,” Sessa-Reeves said. “We went in knowing Lower Moreland is a good team. They run their stuff. (Tom) Przbylinski is a really good player and they’re really well coached. Our guys did a really good job of grinding through it.”
Mahtat had 17 points to lead CR North, while Blum added 16. Cole McCarthy chipped in with 13 points.
Lower Moreland was led by Kevin Hegedus’ 14 points, Adam Krutzinger contributed 11, Przybylinski added 10, and Carl Barnette had eight points.
CR North (1-0) opens up the SOL Patriot portion of its schedule Friday at home against Harry S. Truman.

Bensalem 51, Holy Ghost Prep 47
Eric Gonzalez scored 22 points as Bensalem held off neighborhood rival Holy Ghost Prep in a close battle on Tuesday night.
“Any time Bensalem and Holy Ghost get together for the Battle of Bensalem, it’s going to be a dogfight,” said Owls coach Ron Morris. “To go on the road at Holy Ghost against legendary coach (Tony) Chapman) and win, it’s a big accomplishment.”
The final outcome was in doubt down to the wire.
“We got up, we got in some deep foul trouble in the first half, and the game was real close all the way through,” Morris said. “They took the lead. They were up four with a minute or so left. We didn’t quit, we battled.
“Noah (Morris) had a huge steal, passed it ahead to Antonio (Morris), who goes down and gets and and-one layup, makes the foul shot to cut it to one.
“They came down, we got a stop. Eric Gonzalez hit a huge ‘3’ and (was fouled and) that was a four-point play which put us up three. We got a stop, and Antonio (Morris) went 2-for-3 from the line the rest of the way.”
Gonzalez hit three 3-pointers on the night for his 22. Antonio Morris had 20.
“It was nice to see Eric (Gonzalez) get going after a rough shooting game Friday,” coach Morris said. “He came back and had a really big night for us. He was 7-for-7 from the foul line, and Antonio (Morris) was 5-for-7. In a tight game, that’s big. They were clutch free throws.
“We battled. Jack (Wineburg) continues to do all the little things. Micah White was rebounding and playing good defense. We go out, we grind, we work hard, and we just battle. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy.”
Bensalem (2-0) plays at Council Rock South on Friday in its SOL Patriot opener.

Neshaminy 80, New Foundations Charter 36
After a season-opening loss on Monday night against Conestoga, Neshaminy was on the road for an early game against New Foundations Charter. And this one had a much different outcome as the Redskins built an early lead on the way to a 44-point win,.
“They were glad to be able to play today,” said Neshaminy coach Mark Tingle. “Obviously, we didn’t play well last night. I think Conestoga is good, but we kind of had trouble getting into rhythm. But it was our first game, and we had a chance to win it at the end. It was a one-possession game, we just didn’t come away with it.
“It was good to kind of get it going again, because we start the league Thursday against Pennsbury.
“We were up from start to finish. It was 45-18 at the half. We were able to get everybody in the game, work on some things and go from there.”
Sean Curley had a huge night for Neshaminy, scoring 29 points, including seven 3-pointers to tie a school record.
It won’t take much incentive to get up for Thursday. A year ago, the rivals split overtime games.
“It’s a big rivalry game at our place,” Tingle said. “Last year, at our place we beat them in triple overtime. Last year at their place, we lost in overtime.
“It’s good to start the league. It’s always weird to start the league this early, but it’s good. It’s always a good game. We’ll be ready to play.”

Pennridge 56, Owen J Roberts 38
At times, it was as ugly as the weather outside, but for Pennridge, it was a much-needed bounce back win on the road in its final nonleague game before starting league play on Friday night.
“We’re pleased,” said Rams coach Dean Behrens. “Going on the road, it was lousy weather, the JV game took forever, waited around because of some clock issues, and it didn’t get started until 7:20.
“We got off to a tough start. (Owen J. Roberts) got out to 4-0 lead, Xavier Peters kind of settled us down, he hit the next two buckets, and from there the defense clamped down. We held them to 12 points in the first half. They scored eight points in 15 minutes.
“Jake Buesing did a really good job on their point guard, (Luke Fryer). He kind of hounded him, face-guarded him the whole time. Xavier Peters got in foul trouble, we took him out and gave Jake the job of covering their point guard. I thought it worked out well.”
Matt Campione led the Rams (2-1) with 16 points, while Peters had 11.
“Offensively, I still don’t think we’re in sync,” Behrens said. “We had way too many turnovers, especially in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, we were much more efficient and hit a couple of shots.”
Pennridge opens the SOL Colonial Friday night at home against North Penn.

Central Bucks East 56, Upper Dublin 54
Three up and three down in nonleague games for CB East, as Tuesday the Patriots ook care of Upper Dublin, holding on down the stretch for the two-point win.
“We built a lead up to around 12 or 14,” said Patriots coach Erik Henrysen. “And they just chipped away, and it was tight at the end.
“They cut it to 2, Kyle Berndt got to the line and iced the game with two free throws. It was a one-and-one and he made both.”
East had balanced scoring, led by Joey Giordano with 16 points, and Berndt and Jacob Cummiskey with nine points each. Giordano added five rebounds, Berndt had five rebounds and five assists, and Cummiskey dished out six assists and grabbed six boards.
