North Penn coach Mike Rio:
–On the game: “(It was a) really tough game – first day of school for our girls, and we were definitely a little flat to start but they played solid enough defensively until Alyssa played a long ball to Anna who took it past two Spring-Ford defenders and finished a great shot to the lower left”
–Props: “Defensively, the back line played great, and Rachel Murphy made a few key saves to keep the clean sheet and get the win, definitely was the most she’s been tested so far and she was up to the challenge.
“We were dealing with a few injuries, and everyone really stepped up to fill in and it was a great effort by everyone today. Madi Morrow had to play a couple positions for us today and gave us energy all over the field and the central midfielders Maddie Gorman, Paige Gladfelter, Elliot Hanrahan and Lani Bachmann really stepped up in the absence of Izzy Rudnick.
“I’m really proud of the back-to-back clean sheets and the way the girls are defending and working hard for each other all over the field.”
