Sometimes it’s as simple as 1, 2, 3…..
The 2026 Suburban One League championships are all written in the history books (if they even have history books for SOL champions).
1…….Upper Moreland (9-1 overall) is the only outright champion in the Suburban One League as the Golden Bears (5-0) went unbeaten in the 2026 American Conference season.
The key conference victory for Upper Moreland came in a 14-0 win over second place Wissahickon (8-2, 4-1).
2…….Plymouth Whitemarsh (8-1) & Quakertown (6-4) shared the Suburban One League championship as the Colonials (5-1) & Panthers (5-1) were co-champions of the 2026 Continental Conference season.
Plymouth Whitemarsh defeated Quakertown (44-8) in the conference opener, while PW lost to Council Rock South (26-21). Quakertown went on to win its next five games in conference play.
3…….Central Bucks West (9-1), Pennridge (9-1) & Central Bucks South (6-4) shared the Suburban One League championship as the Bucks (6-1), Rams (6-1) & Titans (6-1) were tri-champions of the 2026 National Conference season.
CB West defeated CB South (45-13) * Pennridge defeated CB West (14-7) & CB South defeated Pennridge (21-14).
The championship trophies for the trophy case & banners to hang in the gymnasium can now be ordered for Upper Moreland, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Quakertown, Central Bucks West, Pennridge & Central Bucks South.
And the PIAA District One playoffs are the next challenge for the Golden Bears, Colonials, Panthers, Bucks, Rams & Titans.

District One Playoffs
The Suburban One League will showcase nine teams from Class 6A and two teams from Class 5A in the opening round of the playoffs.
The biggest ‘surprise, surprise, surprise’ (google Gomer Pyle) to make the 16-team Class 6A playoffs had to be the No. 16 seed Harry S Truman Tigers.
Truman had a dismal 8-42 record the last 5 seasons and the Tigers were moved ‘down’ from the SOL Continental Conference to the SOL American Conference.
Truman qualified for the playoffs with a 5-5 record that was a roller coaster ride. During the 2026 season the Tigers lost * won * lost * won * lost * won * lost * won * lost & won last week over William Tennent (42-21) to make the postseason.

There will be two opening round 6A games that will feature 2026 rematches.

No. 3 Pennridge will host No. 14 North Penn in a rematch not only of last year’s D-1 6A final (won by North Penn 21-14) but also a rematch of a SOL National Conference game played earlier this season (won by Pennridge 20-8).

No. 10 Central Bucks East will be on the road to play No. 7 Ridley. The Patriots lost to the Green Raiders in a non-league season opener this year, 28-7.

Golden Bears looking for retaliation…
No. 5 Upper Moreland celebrated a Suburban One League American Conference championship.
However, the Purple & Gold was denied an unbeaten season with a distasteful 33-6 non-league loss to No. 12 West Chester Henderson.
The Golden Bears will have a chance for payback when they host the Warriors in the opening round of the 5A * District One playoffs.

However, the season IS indeed over for 10 Suburban One League teams as the PIAA District One playoffs begin this week.
Class 6A
No. 17 * Souderton (4-6, 4-2) had its bubble burst as the Indians were the first team ‘out’ of the 6A D-1 playoffs. Souderton played six 6A playoff teams and finished 1-5 against those teams. The Indians defeated Council Rock South (14-13) but suffered non-league losses to Spring-Ford (31-14), Pennridge (28-11), & CB West (35-14). Souderton also lost SOL Continental Conference losses to Plymouth Whitemarsh (17-14) & Quakertown (22-21).
No. 18 * Pennsbury (4-6, 2-5) finished its season with a 20-6 victory over rival Neshaminy. The victory snapped a 4-game conference losing streak. The win, however, could not give the Falcons a playoff berth.
No. 20 * Neshaminy (3-7, 1-6) finished its season with a 20-6 loss to Pennsbury that cost the Redskins a spot in the D-1 playoffs. Neshaminy lost its last three conference games and was outscored by a margin of 102-21 in those setbacks.
No. 26 * Abington (2-8, 0-7) finished its season with a 62-14 conference loss to North Penn. The Ghosts lost every SOL National Conference game by the ‘mercy-rule’ and was outscored 304-33 in those games. Abington * which claimed non-league wins over Norristown & CR North * has now lost 37 straight National Conference games.
No. 27 * William Tennent (2-8, 0-5) finished its season winless in the SOL American Conference. The Panthers notched victories over Council Rock North (20-7) & Class 2A New Hope Solebury (35-7).
No. 28 * Bensalem (2-8, 1-5) finished its season with three Continental Conference losses to CR South, Souderton & Plymouth Whitemarsh. In those losses the Owls were outscored 133-21. Bensalem has defeated CR North (6-0 in overtime) & Dobbins Tech (49-6).
No. 30 * Council Rock North (0-10, 0-6) finished its 2026 season winless. The Indians lost in the Rock Cup to CR South, 49-14. It was the 24th consecutive overall defeat for Rock North. The Indians were outscored in the 2026 season by a margin of 356-48.
Class 5A
No. 21 * Upper Dublin (3-7, 2-4) opened the SOL Continental schedule with wins over Bensalem (14-13) & Council Rock North (38-7). However, the Flying Cardinals lost their final 4 conference games to Rock South, Plymouth Whitemarsh, Quakertown & Souderton.
No. 22 * Hatboro-Horsham (3-7, 2-3) captured a pair of conference wins over William Tennent (24-24) & Springfield-Montco (35-2). The Hatters dropped conference games to Wissahickon, Truman & Upper Moreland.
Class 4A
Springfield – Montco (3-7, 1-4) defeated William Tennent 35-2 for the lone SOL American Conference victory for the Spartans. Springfield almost defeated 6A Harry S Truman * a 6A playoff team * losing 22-20.
