Non-league
ABINGTON 13, HOLY GHOST PREP 6
The Ghosts notched an impressive road win Friday, opening up a 7-1 halftime lead and never looking back. The Firebirds scored four of their six goals in the third period, and by that time, the Ghosts had a commanding lead.
“The defense did a great job playing team defense and causing turnovers to keep the ball in our offensive zone,” Abington coach Mike Duffy said. “Matt Miller did a great job facilitating the offense with one goal and six assists, and Connor Penderghest had one goal going coast to coast as a D pole.”
Also for the Ghosts, Spence Lowery contributed three goals and one assist. Sam Udell also had a hat trick. Zach Silverman added two goals and two assists, and Andrew Suit had a pair of goals. Sean Lare added one goal, and Liam Frazier had one assist.
Ben Eyre had an outstanding game at the faceoff X, winning 16 of 23 faceoffs.
