SOL American Conference
Souderton 11 Abington 8
Walker Martin led a balanced scoring attack with a hat trick and an assist, but it was the dazzling 26-save effort in goal of Axell Beskar that that enabled visiting Souderton to top Abington in an American Conference game Friday.
Beskar’s 26 saves is the single game save record in program history.
“Axell Beskar was the difference today,” Souderton coach Mark Princehorn said. “He played the best game of his career today. It was one of the best individual efforts this program has seen. He was simply tremendous and stood on his head. Every day he gets better and hands down was the player of the game.”
The Indians opened up a 7-4 halftime lead, and the two teams exchanged goals in the second half.
Cole Witoslawski (five assists), Brock Azeff and Jalen White each contributed two goals.Dylan Anderson and Luke Halteman each added single tallies for the Indians.
Witoslawski's five assists were a single game program record.
"Cole has stepped up for us in so many ways," Princehorn said. "He's a fantastic leader and really the guy who holds his teammates accountable.
"Last week he made one of our sophomores stay after practice to work on shooting. Cole is a guy who talks the talk and then backs it up. He's really stepped it up as a player and as a leader. He's another part of this sensational senior class."
Midfielder Nick Guthre led the team with six ground balls.
Souderton (5-2, 1-1 SOL) will travel to Harriton Saturday for a non-league game at 3 p.m., and Abington (6-3, 2-1) is scheduled to play Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in a non-league contest Saturday.

Wissahickon 18, Quakertown 2
Twelve players had at least one goal for Wissahickon in its American Conference win over visiting Quakertown on Friday.
Owen Baim (one assist) and Brett Lehman (one assist) led the Trojans with three goals apiece while Jackson Intrieri (game-high seven assists) and Harrison Williams each chipped in a pair of goals.
Brody Myers (three assists), Chase Ott (one assist), Jake Licata (one assist), Dean Wolfe (one assist), Alex Solomon, E.J. Schreiner, Samuel Baker and Quinn Fonash each had singles goals in the victory. Matt Fritz won 9-of-14 face-offs.
“They outplayed us at the face-off X, and we tried some new looks on offense and defense but couldn’t generate much in wet conditions,” Quakertown coach Jay Donis said. “Despite the score, I’m positive about our effort, and I expect the same level of intensity from my guys going forward.”
Goalies Scott Pfeiffer and Chris Shea each made three saves for the Trojans.
Wissahickon (6-2, 2-0 SOL) will host Radnor Monday in a non-league contest, and Quakertown (4-5, 0-1) will host Upper Moreland on Tuesday.
Hatboro-Horsham 8, Plymouth Whitemarsh 2
Ian Reilley had a hat trick to help power Hatboro-Horsham over visiting Plymouth Whitemarsh in American Conference play Friday.
In addition to Reilley, who also added a pair of assists, the Hatters received two goals from Dylan Fesmire and single goals from Michael Brown (one assist), Sam Fink and Min Lee.
Kyle Rudolph (six), Yoni Azulay (five) and Davis Wheeler (four) led the way in ground balls for Hatboro-Horsham while goalie Joe Brophy made six saves.
Hatboro-Horsham (2-7, 1-1 SOL) will host Souderton on Tuesday, and Plymouth Whitemarsh (0-6, 0-3) will host Plymouth Whitemarsh on Monday.
UPPER DUBLIN 20, UPPER MORELAND 5
The Flying Cardinals raced out of the gate to a 15-0 lead and never looked back in a contest that saw 10 different UD players contribute to the scoring.
Brian McCarry's five-goal effort led the Cardinals, and Brett Rama added four goals. Vijay Foster and Jayden Santangelo (two assists) both had a hat trick while Andrew Sowers contributed a goal and two assists. Lucas Roselli and Jason Williams each had a goal and an assist, Tom Petrucci and Jackson Simmons both had one goal, and Zach Young chipped in an assist.
In goal for the Cardinals, Sam Hoffman had three saves while Louie Gamburg had one.
Upper Dublin (3-5, 2-1 SOL) will travel to Parkland on Tuesday for a non-league game, and Upper Moreland (2-7, 1-3) will be on the road at Council Rock South on Monday.

SOL National Conference
Central Bucks West 9, Council Rock North 3
Unbeaten Central Bucks West played shutdown defense on the way to a 9-3 win over host Council Rock North in a National Conference game Friday.
The Bucks, now 7-0 overall and 2-0 in conference, did not allow a goal in the second half while scoring five of their own to pull away for the victory.
Christian Kunkel paced the offense with a hat trick and Erik Ojert contributed a pair of goals in the win. Ojert also had a game-high four assists.
David Ross, Jake Ojert (one assist), Conor Albrecht and Jeff Woosnam had single tallies for the Bucks.
Goalie Max Dunar made 16 saves in the win. Garrett Hitchens won 7-of-14 face-offs for the Bucks.
Peter Lehman, Nate Lewis and Beckett Thompson had goals for the Indians.
Central Bucks West will host Neshaminy Tuesday, and Council Rock North (4-2, 0-2) will travel to Haverford Monday for a non-league game.

Central Bucks East 13, Neshaminy 7
Central Bucks East rebounded from its Tuesday loss to archrival Central Bucks West to hand visiting Neshaminy a defeat in National Conference play Friday.
The Patriots, who led 6-3 at halftime, displayed a consistent offensive attack by scoring six goals in the first half and seven more after intermission.
Ryan Stout, who paced the Patriots with a game-high six goals, had the final goal of the first quarter and the first tally of the second quarter to help East build a 6-3 halftime lead. Stout also led the Patriots with eight ground balls to go along with one caused turnover, and teammate Evan Bullotta was next with six ground balls and one caused turnover.
Ryan Carroll contributed a hat trick, three ground balls and one caused turnover in the win while Ryan Eife had two goals, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Matt Melendez and Jimmy Knepp added single tallies.
Ryan Gray dished out a game-high six assists and Knepp added three helpers. Ryan Carroll and Nils Updale each had one assist. Updale and Jake Kueny each had four face-off wins. Kueny also had three ground balls and two caused turnovers while Updale had four ground balls. Connor Martin had two ground balls while Drew Bethke and Ryan McCauley each had two caused turnovers. Mark Lapioli and Joe Beahan both had one caused turnover.
Goalie Liam Rosenthal made eight saves in the win.
Noah Weiman led Neshaminy with three goals while Nick Donato and Luke Sermarini each had a goal and an assist. Connor McVey and Jeremy Sheley each had a single tally in the loss.
Central Bucks East (4-3, 1-1 SOL) will have a quick turnaround and will play Pine Richland, from the Pittsburgh area, on its home turf Saturday at 11 a.m. Neshaminy (6-2, 1-1) will travel to Central Bucks West on Tuesday.

North Penn 4, Central Bucks South 3
North Penn utilized stifling defense to post a 4-3 win over host Central Bucks South in a National Conference game Friday.
“Our defense played great today,” North Penn coach Rick Smith said. “Jake Nelson, Bryan Myers, Ryan Schoppe, Nic Conroy and our goalie, Bryon Rimmer, all played really well.”
After a scoreless first quarter, the Knights put up three goals in the second quarter to lead 3-0 at halftime.
Each team had a single goal in the third quarter, giving the Knights a 4-1 cushion heading into the final 12 minutes. The Titans netted two goals in the fourth quarter, but never got a shot for the equalizer.
Conor Young had two goals to lead North Penn while Danny Payne (one assist) and Jake Homan each had one goal.
Rimmer made six saves in net.
Angus Ballantine had a goal, an assist and a ground ball for the Titans while Austin Novick and Jake Reilly also had goals. Tyler Horvath won 6-of-9 face-offs and had five ground balls while goalie Colin Bernstein had nine saves and two ground balls.
Matthew McDonald had three ground balls and one forced turnover while Dylan Grasso and Logan Dunn each had a pair of ground balls. Adding one ground ball each were Colin Abbonizio, Jason Christianson (one forced turnover), Dylan McCrory, Christian Manibo (one forced turnover), Jake Scarafone (one forced turnover) and Stephen Fayer. Jonathan Robinson and Lorenzo Martin each had one forced turnover.
North Penn (4-4, 2-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks East Monday, and the Knights will hold their Cancer Awareness Night on Wednesday, April 17, 7 p.m., when they will take on Hatboro-Horsham on the turf field. Baked goods will be for sale, and there will also be donation buckets as well as t-shirts for sale. All proceeds will benefit two North Penn lacrosse families who are battling cancer. Central Bucks South (5-4, 1-1) will host Pennridge Monday.

Council Rock South 13, Harry S. Truman 1
Council Rock South jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on its way to a National Conference win over host Harry S. Truman on Friday.
The Golden Hawks scored four goals in the first quarter, but the Tigers' defense held strong in the second, and it was a 4-0 game at the intermission. Sam Lelyukh put the Tigers on the board to make it a 4-1 game in the third quarter before the Golden Hawks reeled off three unanswered goals to go on top 7-1.
Philip Mignacca had four goals to pace the Golden Hawks while Sean Kolimaga had three and Sal Mastromarco and Chase Patterson had two each.
Oliver Holt and Jake Brossman had one goal each while Holt, along with Dallas Trampe, each had three ground balls.
Tim Vickery and Sean Kolimaga also had three ground balls while Zac Prosmushkin was 6-for-6 on face-offs.
Council Rock South (5-4, 1-1 SOL) will host Upper Moreland in a non-league game Monday, and Harry S Truman (0-4, 0-2) will host Council Rock North Wednesday.
Pennsbury 12, Pennridge 11
The Falcons are making heart-stopping finishes a habit. For the third time in their last four games, the final outcome came down to the wire.
“We’ve been keeping the games really tight, for the most part,” coach Drew Artin said. “Most of them have been tight games. It’s been really fun.”
Avery Dysart brightened a dismal Friday night for the Falcons – who led by two at halftime – when he scored the game-winner as time expired in regulation.
“It was pouring rain, torrential rain,” Artin said. “Just when you thought it was slowing down another wave would come.
“It became a nail-biter, but at the same time, we’ve been there before. We’re just having a lot of fun with this group. The boys are playing for each other out there. We never feel like we’re out of the fight. We might be down, but we’re never out. Everyone played well.
“Pennridge is a very tough team, well coached, a very strong program. I think we came out ready to play. Knowing Pennridge was a tough opponent was maybe a motivator for us to really pick it up.”
Dysart finished the game with a goal and two assists. Colby Seneca's two goals and two assists led a balanced Falcon attack. Nick Sutton, Will Anderson and Jesse Keaton each contributed two goals and one assist. Ryan DeZutel, Will Cusick and Ethan Heugler each added one goal to close out the scoring.
“We came out and scored two or three unanswered goals,” Artin said. “Our offense was moving the ball well, carrying it well and valuing possessions.
“Colby Seneca had a fantastic game offensively for us. We had eight different scorers. Ethan Heugler is a defender for us, and he picked off a pass in transition when we were riding and ended up going to the cage and scoring. He’s one of those kids – we do goals, and one of his personal goals this year was to score a goal. It was really cool to see him score. He’s put in a lot of time. He’s worked really hard in our offseason program, and I’m really proud of him.”
Heugler and Cusick scooped up four and three ground balls, respectively, and Charlie Nuschke was credited with six ground balls. Bryse Raniello added four.
Jake Krefetz was once again dominant at the face-off X, winning 18 of 25 face-offs. He also led the team with eight ground balls.
“Once again Jake Krefetz was a beast at face-off – he’s done a fantastic job,” Artin said. “The stat book said he had eight ground balls, but I think he had 15.
“He just has been winning pretty much every face-off for us.”
Goalie Luke Nolan was credited with nine saves in a winning effort.
Friday’s win was the sixth in seven games for the Falcons, who are 4-1 in games decided by two goals or less this season. Artin credited his team’s success in large part to the offseason program of coach Greg Mackrides
“We had the biggest buy-in we’ve ever had from the kids, and it’s definitely translating to the success we’re having right now,” the Falcons’ coach said. “The chemistry that we’re building with the team – it’s all come directly from that.”
Pennsbury (6-3, 1-1 SOL) is off until Tuesday, April 23, when the Falcons will host Central Bucks South. Pennridge (4-3, 0-1) will travel to Central Bucks South on Monday.
Wednesday, April 10
UPPER MORELAND 5, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3
The Golden Bears threw some defense at the Colonials and received timely offensive contributions en route to a conference win. A trio of freshmen starters played key roles in the win – Ryan Olexa had a pair of assists, Owen Dunleavy scored a pair of goals, and Joe Messina added a single goal. Senior Justin Mull had a hand in three goals, scoring one goal and assisting on two others, while senior Anthony Bachmayer added one goal.
UM goalie Sam Rose recorded 11 saves.
